
Under the witness of General Secretary To Lam and senior leaders, representatives of Vietnamese ministries and branches, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long representing the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew presented 02 Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the British partner, including: Memorandum of Understanding on Clean Energy Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Agency and Memorandum of Understanding on Product Safety between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the UK Department for Business and Trade.
The two MoUs were negotiated and signed by both sides on the basis of close and effective cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and UK partners in the fields of trade and clean energy, promising much development potential, affirming specific cooperation directions in the pillars of cooperation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that Vietnam and the UK established during the visit of General Secretary To Lam .
The signing of the two memorandums of understanding marks an important milestone in the cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the UK's partner ministries, promoting the effective implementation of existing cooperation frameworks, realizing the contents stated in the Joint Statement on upgrading the comprehensive partnership between the two countries, and creating positive effects contributing to the economic development of the two countries.

On the sidelines of the program, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long had a meeting with Ms. Rachel Kyte, UK Climate Envoy and Mr. Chris Taylor, UK JETP Envoy. The two sides discussed in detail the contents of cooperation, including the successful signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Clean Energy Cooperation, the implementation of 11 UK JETP projects in Vietnam, and the direction of cooperation in the coming time.
Ms. Rachel Kyte and Mr. Chris Taylor expressed their interest in deploying GFANZ funding for JETP projects, removing remaining difficulties and obstacles. Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long said that Vietnam is taking strong steps to build legal frameworks, remove institutional bottlenecks to facilitate renewable energy projects, and projects within the framework of JETP are successful. Partners also expressed their interest in the cooperation project to develop a Center of Excellence for Offshore Wind Power in Vietnam. Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long answered the concerns and obstacles of the partners and said that he had assigned relevant units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the UK side to deploy this Center.
