The Prime Minister chaired the 20th meeting of the Steering Committee for key national transport projects.

According to the Steering Committee's report, since the July meeting, ministries, branches and localities have completed 12/33 assigned tasks; notably, they have organized the inauguration and groundbreaking of 250 projects and works with a total investment of nearly 1.3 million billion VND on August 19, 2025, contributing to creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere towards the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2).

Currently, the country has put into operation 2,476 km of expressways and is continuing to deploy the remaining 733 km to reach the target of 3,000 km. Notably, the Steering Committee has just added 15 projects, bringing the total number of projects under the Steering Committee's monitoring scope to 120; including many important projects in Ca Mau province such as: Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway, connecting road to Hon Khoai port, Hon Khoai dual-use general port and the project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport.

At the meeting, representatives of ministries, branches, localities, and members of the Steering Committee focused on discussing and proposing solutions to remove difficulties, obstacles, and major bottlenecks to speed up the progress of implementing important national projects and works; focusing on reviewing mechanisms and policies, removing difficulties in the supply of construction materials; being more drastic in site clearance; promptly completing investment procedures, speeding up the progress of selecting investors for projects; having construction plans in stormy weather conditions, ensuring the safety and progress of projects and works.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the achievements of ministries, branches, members of the Steering Committee, contractors, project management boards, and investors in the past time; many ministries, branches, units, and localities have made drastic efforts to complete important tasks, contributing to creating a vibrant and exciting emulation atmosphere nationwide.

With the spirit of "only discussing action, not retreating", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches and localities to frankly acknowledge and focus on removing existing difficulties and obstacles; promote the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, innovation, creativity, speed, boldness, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility in organizing and implementing tasks; in which, prioritizing site clearance, early handover to construction units; focusing on completing investment procedures for projects.

The Prime Minister directed to urgently review and supplement construction material sources, propose to issue specific replacement mechanisms in a timely manner to ensure supply for large projects, especially expressways; competent agencies, investors, and contractors to increase human resources and machinery, organize construction in 3 shifts, 4 shifts, proactively respond to adverse weather, ensure labor safety and progress; prepare conditions for the simultaneous inauguration and commencement of projects and works nationwide on December 19, 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches, members of the Steering Committee, contractors, project management boards, investors and relevant agencies and units to concentrate maximum resources to perform well the assigned tasks, ensure the quality and progress of projects, and be determined to disburse 100% of the public investment capital plan in 2025, contributing to achieving the growth target of 8.3 - 8.5% in 2025, creating momentum, creating position and creating force to achieve the double-digit growth target in the next period.
