Luxembourg Prime Minister beats gong to open HOSE trading session

Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel began his working visit to Ho Chi Minh City on May 5 by visiting the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) and ringing the gong to open the trading session.

On the morning of May 5, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel rang the gong to open the trading session at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE). This was the first stop on Mr. Bettel's busy schedule in Ho Chi Minh City.

Prime Minister Xavier Bettel thanked Vietnam for its attention, reception, and exchange, affirming that his visit to HOSE is a testament to the connection and solidarity, working together to cope with climate change and protect the environment.

Mr. Bettel said Luxembourg is Europe's leading center for sustainable and green investment. Luxembourg has developed and put into trading the first green bond product in Europe; however, this is only an initial success, in the future it will make more efforts, innovate, create, and launch more effective programs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel also said that Luxembourg has always supported the development of the Vietnamese stock market over the past 22 years, including training experts for the market. He added that during the high-level meeting with the Vietnamese government leaders on May 4, Luxembourg also mentioned the development of the financial market in general and the stock market in particular.

After visiting the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, on May 5, Mr. Xavier Bettel is scheduled to speak at the Vietnam - Luxembourg Business Forum, visit some locations in Ho Chi Minh City and meet with Ho Chi Minh City leaders in the afternoon of the same day.

Prime Minister Xavier Bettel received souvenirs from the Vietnamese delegation. Vietnam and Luxembourg have made positive developments in economic and trade exchanges between the two countries, especially in the field of investment, as Luxembourg is the third largest European investor in Vietnam with a total investment capital of 2.6 billion USD .

On May 4, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Xavier Bettel said that Vietnam and Luxembourg agreed on a strategic partnership framework on green finance, considering this a new pillar of cooperation, contributing to deepening the relationship between the two countries and contributing to the goal of sustainable economic development.
