(TN&MT) - On the afternoon of December 22, during his working trip to Lao Cai, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Golden Square Lao Cai Social Housing project built in a residential area adjacent to the extended B6 road, Bac Lenh ward, Lao Cai city and surveyed the Lao Cai- Hanoi -Hai Phong railway.

Golden Square Social Housing Project is a key project of Lao Cai province as well as Alphanam Group, aiming to provide the best priced, best quality housing for people, while ensuring stability for low-income people to enjoy social housing policies. The project has a land use area of 42,317.7m2, a population of about 5,589 people, with 4 buildings from 18 to 23 floors, a total of 2,189 apartments, a total investment of 2,085 billion VND, project implementation progress from 2024 to 2029.

On the afternoon of December 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Golden Square Social Housing Project in Lao Cai.

The project is also planned with synchronous infrastructure with a system of landscapes and modern utility services, such as: Kindergarten, entertainment center, clubs - outdoor sports training areas, children's playground, flower garden, smart modern parking lot.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that in the spirit of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the Prime Minister requested agencies and units to follow the example and promote the spirit of saying and doing, committing to doing, and doing, having done, having done must have specific products and results, contributing to the development of the country, bringing an increasingly prosperous and happy life to the people.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated Lao Cai province's determination and aspiration to develop strongly; efforts to develop the economy, ensure national security and defense, and do well in foreign affairs; and at the same time actively contribute to implementing the Party's guidelines and policies of not sacrificing progress, fairness, and social security to pursue economic growth alone.

Appreciating the implementation of the Golden Square Lao Cai project, contributing to the implementation of the Project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing apartments, the Prime Minister requested Lao Cai province and related entities to continue to do better in developing social housing, ensuring quality standards, environment, and utilities for people with the most favorable purchase and hire-purchase policies for people. At the same time, complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area by June 2025 at the latest.

Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony of the Golden Square Social Housing Project, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, together with Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong and leaders of ministries and branches, surveyed the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route.

According to the plan, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway has a total length of 417 km, passing through 9 localities (Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Hai Phong), connecting with Hai Phong international seaport, connecting international transit with China; meeting the transportation needs with high quality, fast, convenient and safe.

After listening to the report, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport and relevant ministries and agencies to further accelerate the preparation of the project. In January 2025, the project must be submitted to the Government so that in February 2025, the project investment policy and specific mechanisms and policies can be submitted to the National Assembly. Construction of this railway line must begin no later than December 2025.
The Prime Minister requested to continue researching and recalculating the route, stations, and design speed of the project... with the straightest and shortest route possible, not following the old railway line but following the new line; adjusting the number and location of stations appropriately...
