On the morning of February 9, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and members of the Government's working delegation inspected and urged the progress of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project, the section through Mo Duc district, and the North - South expressway construction investment project in the eastern phase 2021 - 2025, the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section (Binh Dinh).

The Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project is 100km long, with 7 sections, starting at Km23+500 and ending at Km125+645 connecting to the coastal road of Binh Dinh province. Up to now, 32.5km has been put into operation, the undeveloped section is about 31km and overlaps with National Highway 1 for 11.3km. The section has about 6km overlapping with the approved planning boundary for exploration and exploitation of titanium minerals.

Surveying the route through Minh Tan Nam village, Duc Minh commune, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and highly appreciated the results achieved in the past time and requested Quang Ngai province to continue focusing resources to implement the project for early completion, opening up new development space for the coastal area with great potential of the province.

The Prime Minister said that the completion of the route is a great advantage for Quang Ngai to exploit its tourism potential and advantages, promoting socio-economic development. Quang Ngai province is studying the construction of a number of bridges on the route, such as across An Khe lagoon and My A estuary to shorten the distance; investing in the section from Doc Soi to Chu Lai airport. "The spirit is to build bridges across rivers, fill soil across fields, and carve mountains across mountains. Make the route straight, beautiful, and of high quality to create momentum for future development," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.

* On the morning of the same day (February 9), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Government delegation surveyed the investment project to build the North-South expressway in the East phase 2021 - 2025, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section (Binh Dinh).

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway Project (Binh Dinh) is 88 km long, with a total investment of more than 20.4 trillion VND, and is part of the North - South Expressway Project in the East. The project has 3 tunnels through the mountain with a total length of nearly 5km. This is a public investment project, the Ministry of Transport is the investor, the construction contractor is a consortium led by Deo Ca Group. The progress according to the contract is to be completed in September 2026, but the contractor strives to complete the bridge and road sections by August 31, 2025. To date, site clearance work has been basically completed. Regarding construction, the contractor is organizing 50 construction teams, 1,550 machines, 3,850 people, achieving nearly 55% of the output (7,300/13.3 trillion VND).

Surveying the construction site, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised and asked the contractors to continue their efforts in construction, deploying "3 shifts, 4 shifts, overcoming the sun and rain, eating and sleeping quickly, working during the day when there is not enough time, working at night, working through holidays and Tet", having many creative solutions and initiatives; at the same time, strengthening cooperation, using subcontractors and local businesses to further speed up the construction progress.

The Prime Minister commended and requested the two provinces of Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh to continue to pay attention and join hands with ministries and branches to inspect, urge and support contractors, not leaving contractors alone at the construction site.

Regarding the contractor's recommendations, the Prime Minister directed localities to focus on resolving difficulties and completing site clearance as soon as possible. The Ministry of Transport will invest in completing 2 tunnels with all 3 tunnels on the route to ensure synchronization with the bridge and road items on the route and ensure safety when put into operation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that the project must be completed by December 31, 2025 at the latest, and phase 2 must be urgently implemented. "The central government, localities, the entire political system, especially the two Secretaries of the Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committees, and contractors must join in and work together to implement the project. Any problems or needs must be reported immediately," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.
