Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife begin official visit to Qatar

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife left Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on their way to an official visit to the State of Qatar.

After successfully concluding the working trip to attend the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference and a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the evening of October 30, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Doha International Airport to begin an official visit to Qatar from October 30 to November 1 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.

Welcoming the Prime Minister, his wife and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation at the airport were Qatari Minister of State Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed; Director of Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Ibrahim Yousuf Abdullah Fakhro; Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep; Embassy staff and Vietnamese expatriates in Qatar.

Qatar is the final stop on the three-country Middle Eastern trip of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife along with the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation.

This is the first official visit of a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Qatar in 15 years, taking place in the context of the relationship between the two countries being on a good development path with many substantive results.

However, both sides realized that there is still much room to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in potential areas such as politics-diplomacy, economics, energy, tourism and labor...

Therefore, the visit aims to promote the relationship between the two countries in a more comprehensive and effective manner, especially in terms of market opening, attracting high-quality investment capital, cooperation in labor, education, culture, sports, tourism, people-to-people exchange, combating climate change, cooperation in new fields such as science and technology, clean energy, digital transformation, innovation, Halal industry development, etc.

The visit is of special significance, creating momentum and opening a new phase of cooperation in Vietnam-Qatar relations.

With the foundation of a good relationship over the past three decades, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to the State of Qatar this time will contribute to strengthening political trust between the two countries; creating momentum, opening a new phase of cooperation in the Vietnam-Qatar relationship; especially in attracting investment from Qatar to Vietnam and creating a breakthrough for Vietnamese goods and services to access the Qatari market and the region.
