Prime Minister: Expressway from Cao Bang to Ca Mau to open this year

TPO - The Prime Minister emphasized that in the field of transport infrastructure development, from now until the end of the year, it is necessary to complete about 800 km of expressways to achieve the goal of putting 3,000 km of expressways into operation this year, opening the expressway from Cao Bang to Ca Mau.

Strongly attract private investment

This morning (June 22), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Central Steering Committee on the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, the State Steering Committee on important national projects and works, key transport projects, and promoting disbursement of public investment capital in 2025.

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the Government organized a meeting of the Steering Committees to review the work that has been implemented, remove bottlenecks and propose key tasks for the coming time, especially in the context of restructuring administrative units at the provincial and communal levels.

The Prime Minister hopes that ministries, localities and agencies that have made efforts will make more efforts, that have made determinations will be even more determined, with the spirit that once said, one must do, once committed, one must carry out; the Party has directed, the Government is unified, the National Assembly agrees, the people support, the Fatherland expects, then "only discuss doing, not retreat".

The Prime Minister stated that 2025 is of special importance; the year of many important events of the country; the year of acceleration, reaching the target of implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025, the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025.

To achieve strategic goals, the Party, State and Government have set a growth target of 8% or more in 2025, creating momentum for double-digit growth in the next period with the target of 100% disbursement of public investment capital in 2025. The Prime Minister emphasized that it is necessary to make efforts and determination to complete all goals and tasks in all areas in 2025 as set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress.

Regarding the development of transport infrastructure, from now until the end of the year, it is necessary to complete about 800 km of expressways to achieve the goal of putting 3,000 km of expressways into operation in 2025, opening the expressway from Cao Bang to Ca Mau. The Prime Minister stated that public investment is of great significance, contributing significantly to promoting growth, stabilizing the macro-economy, ensuring major balances of the economy; creating a foundation for infrastructure development; leading and activating investment in the whole society, strongly attracting private investment and FDI capital flows...

National love, compatriotism

The Head of Government emphasized that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a major and very humane policy of the Party and State, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, bringing important significance in many aspects, affirming "national love and compatriotism", demonstrating the responsibility, love and sharing of the whole community.

The Central Steering Committee held four meetings; ministries, agencies, localities, businesses and people participated very vigorously, achieving positive and encouraging results.

After the 4th meeting, the Government issued a telegram, requesting to focus on completing the target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before August 31, 2025; in which housing support for relatives of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions must be completed before July 27, 2025. Thus, the target is reached 2 months earlier than before.

The Prime Minister emphasized that our Party has no other goal than to firmly protect national independence and sovereignty and bring happiness and prosperity to the people.

2025 is the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party; 50 years of the liberation of the South and national reunification; and 80 years of National Day. The goal is to ensure that people do not have a place to live or live in temporary or dilapidated houses.

At the meeting, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung said that so far, 38/63 localities have completed the entire target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for all three target groups; the whole country has supported 262,843/277,420 houses, reaching 94.7%. Of these, 222,854 houses have been inaugurated, 37,989 houses are under construction, an increase of 54,000 houses compared to the fourth meeting. By June 30, the whole country is expected to reach 46/63 localities completing the target.
