Prime Minister supports Saudi Arabia becoming the world's leading financial center

(Dan Tri) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believes that Saudi Arabia will gradually realize the goals in the "Vision 2030" Strategy, turning the country into a leading commercial, financial, and aviation center in the world .

Answering foreign press on the sidelines of the Vietnam - Saudi Arabia Business Forum on October 19 local time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized this point of view.

Questioning the head of the Vietnamese Government , financial news channel Asharq Economy with Bloomberg asked how Vietnam can support and cooperate with Saudi Arabia to help the country realize its "Vision 2030" Strategy.

The "Vision 2030" strategy is a development strategy announced by the Prime Minister and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman in May 2016, aiming to diversify the economy, reduce dependence on oil, and open up culture and society... This strategy is said to prepare for the post-oil era in Saudi Arabia.

Answering the above question, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030".

The Prime Minister believes that Saudi Arabia will gradually realize the goals of this Strategy, making Saudi Arabia a leading center of trade, finance, aviation and tourism in the Middle East and the world.

According to the head of the Vietnamese Government, the two countries' development strategies, visions and orientations until 2030 have many similarities, especially breakthroughs in socio-economic development, development mainly based on science and technology, innovation, prioritizing digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, climate change response, etc.

The Prime Minister stressed that the cooperation results achieved between the two countries are very valuable, but according to him, they are still not commensurate with their potential. The Prime Minister said that the two sides still have a lot of room for cooperation, a lot of potential, and strengths that can complement and support each other, especially in the priority areas of both sides.

Once again, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to and is ready to further strengthen the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Saudi Arabia, including cooperation and support in the implementation of the "Vision 2030" Strategy.

The Prime Minister suggested that the two sides continue to implement specific cooperation policies, programs and projects after the visit.

At the Vietnam - Saudi Arabia Business Forum, businesses listened to leaders of ministries and sectors of the two countries introduce the potential for cooperation as well as investment attraction policies of each side.

Saudi Arabian businesses appreciate the increasingly improved investment and business environment in Vietnam, and share their desire to learn about investment cooperation and business connection opportunities.

Business representatives also made recommendations to the Government and ministries of the two countries, proposing specific cooperation projects with the hope of creating new values and new growth drivers to promote and enhance economic cooperation between the two sides.

On the same day, receiving Saudi Arabian Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Saudi Arabia's great achievements in diversifying and developing non-oil economic sectors, promoting the application of science and technology, innovation, prioritizing green and sustainable development, towards realizing the goals in the "Vision 2030" Strategy.
