Liverpool vs Man City at Anfield Stadium on the night of December 1st is the highlight match of round 13 of the Premier League. Liverpool continued their impressive performance to defeat Man City - a team in crisis.
Both of Liverpool's goals in this match had a big impact from Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian star assisted with an excellent pass for Cody Gakpo to open the scoring when the match had just started for more than 10 minutes.

In the second half, Salah himself destroyed Man City's hopes of scoring a point with a successful penalty kick. The player born in 1992 had his 36th match scoring and assisting in the Premier League - a record previously set by Wayne Rooney.
Man City lost to Liverpool right from the start. It took the visitors nearly 40 minutes to have their first shot. The last time Man City's attack was stuck for so long in the Premier League was against Arsenal in 2010.
Man City only had 8 shots in the whole match, 2 on target and none of them forced the Liverpool goalkeeper to make any saves. Erling Haaland seemed to "disappear" in front of Liverpool's central defenders Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk.

Man City's patchwork lineup struggled to keep the ball under the opponent's tough siege. The visitors' defense was also full of loopholes. Liverpool had 18 shots, of which Van Dijk alone had 3 dangerous headers (1 hit the post) from corner kicks.
The Anfield team won convincingly with a score of 2-0 and firmly held the top spot. Liverpool is 9 points ahead of the chasing group (including Arsenal and Chelsea). Meanwhile, Man City was pushed out of the top 4. This is also the 7th consecutive match that coach Pep Guardiola's team has not won - something that has never happened in the career of the Spanish coach.
