Promoting economic growth drivers

The economy in the first 6 months of the year achieved many important results, but from now until the end of the year there are still many challenges, so it is necessary to promote motivation to strive for higher results.

This is one of the important contents of the Conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment .

Over the past six months, many leading technology corporations have come to Vietnam. In particular, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has coordinated research, developed and submitted to the Prime Minister the Project "Developing human resources for the semiconductor industry to 2030, with a vision to 2050". This industry is also identified as a new driving force for the economy.

With a large contribution from FDI capital, public investment disbursement achieved good results, growth at the beginning of the year achieved good results. If the target for the whole year is 6.5%, the average growth in the remaining quarters will be from 6.3 - 6.4%/quarter. This is feasible with the economy having good growth momentum, so this whole year can grow by 6.5 - 7%.

Mr. Tran Quoc Phuong - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment said: "The management solutions from now until the end of the year also require more careful and detailed research to advise the Government and the Prime Minister on specific tasks for each ministry, local sector at all levels, emphasizing that there is still room for localities to promote further. Second, public investment must still be emphasized to encourage non-state investment sources".

The Ministry of Planning and Investment has developed many projects, reports, and recommendations to prioritize people and businesses, focus on removing difficulties, and make the most of the country's development opportunities. To achieve a higher growth target by the end of the year, efforts from all levels and localities are needed to overcome growth challenges in the coming time.
