Linking production to develop collective economy
Tuyen Quang province currently has 615 cooperatives with more than 13,000 members, with a total charter capital of VND2,406 billion. The average revenue of each cooperative is VND1.2 billion/year, the average income of members and regular workers is VND54 million/person/year. Many cooperatives have been aiming for chain production models, green growth with the strength of agricultural production. Good quality products with high added value have appeared on the market, contributing to increasing the income of cooperative members.
Binh Minh Organic Agricultural Cooperative, directed by Mr. Tran Viet Coi, is effectively exploiting the advantages of medicinal plants and fruit trees. Established in 2022, the cooperative has now formed a 21-hectare raw material area, growing plants such as male papaya, Morinda officinalis, Xạ đen, Cà gai leo, Khôi nhung... In 2023, thanks to the support of 100 million VND from the Tuyen Quang Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting to develop the collective economy, cooperative members boldly contributed more capital to invest in building factories, purchasing machinery and equipment, completing the production line of tea bags from black beans with a capacity of 15-20 tons of raw materials/year; creating jobs for 15 workers with an average income of 5-7 million VND/person/month... In addition, many households growing green-heart black beans and medicinal plants in Tu Quan commune and neighboring communes have a revenue of about 7 billion VND/year; Profit after tax reached more than 900 million VND/year.
Another effective model is the Minh Tam Poultry Breeding and Breeding Cooperative in Tu Thinh Commune, Son Duong District. Established in 2017 with 16 members, the cooperative now has nearly 40 members and has signed contracts to grow cucumbers with more than 1,200 households. The cooperative provides seeds, materials, technical guidance and consumes all products. Annual revenue reaches more than 2.8 billion VND, with profit after expenses of about 1 billion VND. Production linkage has brought about practical results, helping to raise people's awareness from traditional production to commodity production linked to the market, contributing to increasing income.
Towards green agricultural production
In addition to production linkages, many cooperatives are actively innovating technology, improving quality and moving towards green, sustainable production. For example, the Su Anh Agricultural Production Service Cooperative in My Bang Commune, Yen Son District has invested in technology and machinery to improve the quality and diversify tea products. Established in 2017, the cooperative now has nearly 100 hectares of tea produced according to VietGAP standards, with an average total tea output of 125 tons of raw materials per year. The cooperative has linked up with more than 100 households in Yen Son, Son Duong, Ham Yen districts and Tuyen Quang city. Cooperative director Nguyen Cong Su said: To ensure product quality, people participating in the model must strictly adhere to the "4 rights" principle: right medicine, right dosage, right time, right method. With the support of authorities at all levels, the cooperative has access to preferential mechanisms and policies, connecting businesses and supermarkets to consume products. The cooperative has also boldly converted to new tea varieties with high productivity and quality such as Ngoc Thuy tea, Bat Tien tea, etc., and gradually shifted to organic production, creating products that better protect consumers' health.
The circular production model of the Sang Nhung Safe Food Production Cooperative in Dong Tho Commune, Son Duong District is also quite typical in the locality. Recently, the cooperative has cooperated with a Korean enterprise to produce organic microbial fertilizer from livestock waste, aiming to completely solve the problem of environmental pollution.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sang, Director of Sang Nhung Cooperative, said: The fertilizer production line is being tested with an estimated investment of more than 30 billion VND, a capacity of 30 tons/day, with a closed process from fertilizer production, growing vegetables and fruits, product consumption, animal feed processing, animal husbandry and waste treatment to make fertilizer. The cooperative has implemented a circular economic model, protecting the environment in animal husbandry. Along with that, the cooperative will continue to invest in science and technology, innovate production processes to upgrade Sang Nhung herbal pork products to 5-star OCOP.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dai Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang province, in order to support cooperatives in adapting to new requirements, in recent times, the Party and the Government have issued many important policies such as: Resolution No. 106/NQ-CP on the development of agricultural cooperatives in restructuring the agricultural sector and building new rural areas; Decree No. 113/2024/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Cooperatives; Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the collective economy in the new period. Notably, Resolution No. 106 clearly identifies the development of agricultural cooperatives in a sustainable direction as a key task in restructuring the agricultural sector and building new rural areas. This is the foundation for cooperatives to gradually transform, innovate production, improve competitiveness and develop sustainably.
With the support of the Party and State policies and the efforts to transform the production model of cooperatives, the collective economy in Tuyen Quang is playing an important role in promoting green, modern agriculture and adapting to climate change. This will be the foundation for the local agricultural sector to develop sustainably, contributing to socio-economic development.
