Morning of June 22 in Kunming city, Yunnan province, China, the Propaganda Department of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee in collaboration with the Yunnan Province International Media Center for South Asia-Southeast Asia, Yunnan Tourism Planning Research Institute and the Asia-Pacific Research Institute, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences organized a program to introduce the red research and study route "Yunnan Tourism - Discover Vietnam".
Attending the ceremony were representatives of Yunnan province's leaders, representatives of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming, along with many experts, scholars, representatives of travel companies, students, and reporters from Vietnam and China.
The organization of the Ceremony to announce the results of the activity "Searching for Uncle Ho's footprints in Yunnan" and the Program to introduce the red journey for research and study "Yunnan Tourism - Discovering Vietnam" is a meaningful activity to implement the important common perception of the leaders of the two Parties and two countries on continuing to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promoting the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, especially the spirit of cooperation in exploiting red resources, implementing the red journey for research and study, enhancing mutual understanding and people-to-people friendship, especially between the young generations of the two countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phung Tuan Duong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, said that organizing red journeys to study and research revolutionary historical sites and cultural heritages of the two countries has contributed to enhancing exchanges between the youth of the two countries, adding motivation and highlighting the cultural depth of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance.
The program "Searching for Uncle Ho's Footprints in Yunnan" and the two-way red tourism route for research and study "Yunnan Tourism - Discovering Vietnam" are vivid practices that inherit the long-standing revolutionary tradition between the two countries, especially in the context of 2025 when the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and the "Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange", including the special milestone of commemorating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and the 85th anniversary of his revolutionary activities in Kunming.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Van Huy, Director of the Center for Vietnam-China Relations, Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, said that China is the largest source of international tourists to Vietnam. In the first four months of 2025, about 1.95 million tourists visited Vietnam. Vietnam is also a large market for Chinese tourists. These figures reflect the growing interest of people from both countries in exploring and experiencing each other's cultures.
Also at the ceremony, representatives of travel companies from both countries introduced the potential for cooperation, tours, and routes, especially the origin tourism journey of each country.
Within the framework of this program, the Vietnamese delegation had the opportunity to visit many red addresses such as the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, the Yunnan Railway Museum, the relics of the Southwest United University, Mong Tu branch...; visit the combined models culture-tourism in the cities of Kunming, Maitreya, and Mengzi in Yunnan province, China.
