Good agricultural practices according to VietGAP standards are applied to improve the quality of agricultural products, ensure the health of producers and consumers. At the same time, it contributes to environmental protection and traceability, promoting the formation of safe agricultural, forestry and fishery production chains in localities in the province.

In Binh Son commune (Kim Boi), Binh Son Agricultural Service and Trade Cooperative, Kham hamlet effectively implemented a safe vegetable production model according to VietGAP standards. Currently, the Cooperative maintains a production area of over 13 hectares with crops such as green squash, pumpkin, cucumber. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, Director of the Cooperative, said: To ensure product output and disease-free seed sources, the Cooperative cooperates with Sakata Company to purchase products and cooperates with a vegetable seed supplier. During the production process, Cooperative members strictly comply with VietGAP standards; choose organic fertilizers and microbial pesticides to care for crops. Plant care diary is recorded daily, from fertilizing, disease prevention to covering with plastic film to protect plants... Thanks to that, the products of the cooperative meet the requirements of food safety, good productivity and quality, helping the cooperative achieve 20-30% higher profits than traditional farming methods.VietGAP standards are issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for each product and group of aquatic, agricultural and livestock products. Production according to VietGAP helps create agricultural products of good quality; ensure food safety; do not use chemicals or substances harmful to the human body and the environment; have clear origin and source... VietGAP products are easy to consume, have stable prices, and are well received and highly appreciated by consumers. Therefore, many enterprises, cooperatives and production households in the province are interested in investing in developing agricultural production according to VietGAP.
In recent times, the province has issued many directive documents, focusing resources on the following contents: information and communication on food safety of agriculture, forestry and fishery; promoting restructuring of the agricultural sector, encouraging and supporting the development of concentrated agricultural commodity production areas according to value chains, applying high technology, ensuring quality and food safety; building and developing a model for providing safe agricultural, forestry and fishery food.
Implementing the Program to support consulting and certify safe production processes, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Product Quality Management of the province has supported and certified production processes according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and organic standards for 142 cultivation, livestock and aquaculture establishments. Of which, 80 cultivation establishments are certified by VietGAP with a scale of over 1,848 hectares; 11 establishments are certified by GlobalGAP, with a scale of over 198 hectares; 12 establishments are certified according to organic standards in cultivation, with a scale of 62.24 hectares; 12 aquaculture establishments, with a scale of 1,580 cages... In addition, 20 pork businesses are supported to participate in the production and consumption chain of pork products in Hoa Binh City. Sampling activities to monitor and warn of risks of food safety loss in agriculture, forestry and fisheries are also carried out regularly. Through inspection, most facilities complied well with the conditions and requirements for agricultural production and business according to regulations.
The province's agricultural sector has paid special attention to and focused on implementing branding, trade promotion, and product consumption connection promotion. In the first 6 months of the year, 147 enterprises/cooperatives were introduced to participate in domestic and foreign agricultural product trade promotion programs. Quality agricultural products, OCOP of the province continue to be introduced and promoted on the electronic information portal for traceability of origin at https://hb.check.net.vn. Along with that, 7 establishments were instructed to apply quality management processes according to ISO and HACCP standards; 33 establishments were granted certificates and the right to use the trademarks "Song Da Fish - Hoa Binh", "Hoa Binh Honey", "Hoa Binh Black Pepper".
Comrade Le Minh Thuy, Head of the Provincial Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Product Quality Management, said: In recent years, good agricultural production practice models have contributed to the formation of concentrated production areas, promoting the food processing industry and developing local socio-economic development, especially in ethnic minority areas. From now until 2035, the province will continue to implement Resolution No. 03-NQ/TU, dated July 30, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on leading socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021 - 2030 in Hoa Binh province. Issue projects, plans, programs and mechanisms and policies to support organizations and individuals investing in agriculture, farmers and rural areas; focus resources on upgrading infrastructure, supporting investment in equipment for preliminary processing, processing and preserving agricultural products; Build and expand production and product consumption chains; support VietGAP certification and organic standards for cultivation, livestock and aquaculture facilities; introduce agricultural, forestry and fishery production and trading facilities to participate in weeks and fairs to promote products and find consumption markets...
