On the morning of February 13, in the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the Military Service Day, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, came to encourage young people of Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province to join the army at the Military Service Handover Ceremony in 2025.

Attending the event were Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc, Director of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, representatives of Phu Tho province, leaders of Military Region 2, leaders of a number of agencies and units of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and leaders of the Party Committee and government of Viet Tri city.

According to information from the Phu Tho Provincial Military Command, in 2025, the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee focused on comprehensively leading and directing the selection of citizens to perform military service and the obligation to join the People's Public Security. Localities actively and proactively prepared well and simultaneously organized military handover and reception ceremonies on the morning of February 13.

Previously, the entire Phu Tho province organized a training course for party members for outstanding young men preparing to join the army. Localities in the province also organized many activities to meet demobilized soldiers and encourage and give gifts to young men leaving for the army with a total cost of nearly 2 billion VND.

In 2025, in carrying out the task of selecting and calling citizens to join the army, military agencies at all levels of Phu Tho province have done a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities to do a good job of propaganda and education to raise people's awareness of military recruitment; improve the quality of military service registration and management of citizens of military age.

Focus on recruiting citizens who have graduated from universities and colleges; recruiting ethnic minority children in association with creating a source of grassroots cadres for the locality; implementing "rounded" recruitment, with the motto "whoever recruits is sure to be the right person"; focusing on implementing the Army's rear policy well. Thereby, directly contributing to improving the quality of citizens joining the army in the province according to the criteria in 2025, higher than in previous years.

Accordingly, among the citizens enlisted to perform military service, more than 60% of citizens volunteered, including 55 citizens who are children of officials and party members; 87.8% of citizens are between the ages of 18 and 21; nearly 70% have health class 1, 2; nearly 70% have high school, college, or university degrees (including 68 citizens with college or university degrees).

The 2025 military enlistment ceremony in Viet Tri City was held solemnly and respectfully. Viet Tri City assigned 100% of citizens to military units, completing 100% of the assigned targets. Of which: 100% of citizens have good ideology, are healthy enough to perform military service and the obligation to join the People's Public Security; more than 60% of citizens have participated in the Party target class and more than 40% of citizens have written applications to volunteer to join the army. Notably, 100% of citizens who enlist to perform military service and the obligation to join the People's Public Security have a high school degree or higher, of which 15 citizens have college or university degrees.

Previously, the Military Command of Viet Tri City issued military uniforms to 100% of citizens preparing to join the army; Party committees and authorities at all levels met and gave gifts and cash to 100% of citizens joining the army and citizens participating in performing the People's Public Security service.

Witnessing the solemn and dignified military handover ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet expressed his joy at the enthusiastic and enthusiastic spirit of the youth of Viet Tri City to join the army. Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet personally presented congratulatory flowers, fixed each fold of the shirt and kindly advised and encouraged the young men to study hard, train, and mature to continuously beautify the "Determined to Fight, Determined to Win" flag of the heroic Vietnam People's Army; strictly abide by discipline, improve political capacity, and constantly cultivate the moral qualities of a revolutionary soldier, of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.

Holding the hands of each outstanding son of the homeland, the Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army expressed his belief that the youth of Viet Tri City will follow in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers, worthily continuing the tradition of their homeland; constantly striving to become excellent soldiers, worthy of the trust and expectations of the local Party Committee, government and family.

The young people of Viet Tri City excitedly crossed Vinh Quang Bridge and got on the bus to return to their units.

Representing the youth of Viet Tri City on their way to perform their duties, citizen Nguyen Hoang Anh from Nong Trang ward expressed that he and the youth are deeply aware that carrying out the task of protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland; maintaining political security, social order and safety is the responsibility, honor and pride of the youth, carrying out the responsibility to the nation, to the country as beloved President Ho Chi Minh once advised: "The Hung Kings had the merit of building the country, we, your descendants, must work together to protect the country".

Before leaving his homeland to go on duty, citizen Nguyen Hoang Anh promised to cultivate and train his political qualities, ethics and lifestyle, build and foster the good qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the People's Public Security soldiers who forget themselves for the country and serve the people. Wherever he is, in whatever position he holds, he is determined to overcome all difficulties and hardships, quickly integrate and adapt to the new environment; actively study, train, strictly abide by the laws of the State, the discipline of the Army and the People's Public Security, and successfully complete the assigned tasks.
