Thuy Linh saves dramatic match-point, enters Canada Open semi-finals

On the world rankings, Thuy Linh is ranked 22nd, while her opponent is ranked 87th. The Vietnamese tennis player is 27 years old this year, while Wong Ling Ching is quite young, only 21 years old.

But entering the match, Thuy Linh encountered many difficulties. She encountered difficulties right from the first set, when Wong Ling Ching played confidently and quickly led 4-1. Thuy Linh even though she recovered to 4-4 but then made many mistakes.

But Thuy Linh woke up in time to tie the game at 18-18. Wong Ling Ching was still close to victory when leading 20-18. At this point, Thuy Linh played brilliantly at the crucial moment, saving both match points and winning the second set 22-20.

Unable to take advantage of the opportunity, Wong Ling Ching almost collapsed in set 3 when her physical strength decreased. At this point, experience helped Thuy Linh control the match and win 21-15, thereby completing the arduous comeback after 1 hour and 6 minutes.

In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese tennis player's opponent is Amalie Schulz (Denmark, ranked 69th in the world).
