Russian Su-27 fighters intercepted two US B-1B bombers over the Baltic Sea and a UAV in the Black Sea, forcing them to stay away from the country's borders.
"On October 24, Russia detected two flying targets over the Baltic Sea heading towards the border of the Russian Federation. A Su-27 fighter was deployed to identify and prevent them from violating the border," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The Su-27 crew identified the targets as two US Air Force B-1B strategic bombers. The two B-1Bs then turned around and flew away from the northern border of Russia. The Su-27 fighter returned safely to base.

A Su-27 fighter jet was also deployed on the same day to identify and intercept a US Air Force Global Hawk UAV over the Black Sea heading towards Russia's southern border, Moscow added. The US UAV then turned around and left.
US officials have not commented on the information.
Russia and the United States have repeatedly deployed bombers or reconnaissance aircraft close to each other’s airspace. The two sides’ aircraft often encounter each other during these missions, but they usually approach and monitor each other professionally and safely.
