Opportunities arising from the new planning
The Dak Nong Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, holds significant importance for the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in the province.
The plan aims to maximize the potential and strengths of Dak Nong, while ensuring a harmonious balance between socio- economic development and environmental protection.

According to the plan, by 2030, Dak Nong aims to become a moderately developed province in the Central Highlands region, with a comprehensively invested infrastructure system, becoming an important gateway connecting trade between the Central Highlands and the Southeast region.
Dak Nong's development model is organized in the form of "1 center - 3 growth engine poles - 4 economic corridors - 4 development sub-regions".
Gia Nghia City will be the political , administrative, economic, cultural, and scientific-technological center of the province. At the same time, Gia Nghia will be the core urban center of the Southern Central Highlands sub-region.
The three growth poles will include: the central growth pole from the Dak R'lap - Gia Nghia - Quang Khe urban chain; the northern growth pole from the Ea T'ling urban area in Cu Jut district and Dak Mam in Krong No district; and the northwestern growth pole along the border economic corridor with the Dak Mil and Duc An urban areas in Dak Song district as the core.

The plan also identifies three development breakthroughs: industry, agriculture , and tourism. In the industrial sector, the province will invest in the Dak Nong Aluminum Plant complexes 2, 3, 4, and 5, combined with bauxite mining clusters, developing a green and circular economy.
Renewable energy projects will also be prioritized, along with the completion of infrastructure for the 7 planned industrial parks and 11 industrial clusters.
For agriculture, the province has identified the development of agricultural economy linked with preservation and processing industries to enhance product value.
The goal is to establish 25 high-tech agricultural zones, along with 19 concentrated livestock farming zones. High-tech agricultural processing projects will be prioritized for investment.

In the tourism sector, Dak Nong aims to develop four key tourism clusters. Among them, the Ta Dung Lake tourist area will be invested in to become a national-level tourist area.
Potential tourism projects and destinations will also attract investment, such as the Quang Khe and Lieng Nung tourism complexes and other eco-tourism complexes.
Expectations for a breakthrough with the expressway.
The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) expressway project has a length of approximately 128.8 km and a total investment of 25,540 billion VND. The project is expected to be completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2027.
This is a key project connecting the Central Highlands with the Southeast region, contributing to creating new development opportunities and momentum for the entire region.

Dak Nong is also requesting the competent authorities to approve investment for projects such as: the North-South Expressway (Western section) from Buon Ma Thuot to Gia Nghia; the renovation and upgrading of National Highway 14C and National Highway 28; and the construction of the Dak Nong - Chon Thanh railway.
Currently, over 90% of the province's agricultural products are exported through ports in Ho Chi Minh City. Improving transportation infrastructure will create favorable conditions, attract investment, and create a breakthrough for the socio-economic development of Dak Nong, while also ensuring national security and defense in the region.
The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway, along with other key transportation projects, will be a decisive factor in helping Dak Nong's economy take off in the future.
With its immense potential and opportunities arising from the new planning, Dak Nong is opening up many development prospects, promising to become an attractive destination for investors in the near future.
Synchronization in development policies and infrastructure investment will be key to Dak Nong's strong and sustainable development in the coming period.
