Before the storm of vertical price increase of gold, even before the transaction counter opened, people in the capital came to line up, take a number and sit tightly inside the gold shop to wait for their turn to trade. Due to overload, many people had to sadly leave because they were not allowed to go inside to buy/sell gold.

Recorded on the morning of May 10 and 11, on Tran Nhan Tong gold street (Hanoi), although it was not yet time for transactions, many people had already lined up in front of gold shops.

At 9:00 a.m. on May 11, at a large gold store on Cau Giay Street, in contrast to the long queues outside like the previous days, many people sadly left because the store announced that it was overloaded and would not accept any more customers.

Inside this store, people were sitting in line waiting about 1 hour before opening time.

Most customers want to buy more, many have ordered before, now bring the receipt to get the gold.

People are given tickets and queue numbers to wait their turn to trade gold.

SJC gold price at 9:13 am on May 11 was trading at 90,050,000/tael for buying and 91,900,000 for selling.

The second floor of this gold shop was also packed with people waiting in line to make transactions.

By 10am, the number of people coming to trade gold continued to increase. However, due to the overload inside, those who arrived later were not able to trade.

Due to overload, the store decided that customers can only buy a maximum of 2 bars of Thang Long gold and 1 bar of SJC gold. In particular, the store does not accept buying/selling on credit.

Frustrated because she could not enter the gold transaction store, Ms. Thu (Nam Tu Liem district) said: "I came here at 8:30 to buy gold, but the store staff informed me that I could not enter to make a transaction and received the answer that I would come back another day, but today even if I lined up, I could not enter because it was too crowded."

This morning, May 11, the world gold price reached 2,360.7 USD/ounce, down nearly 10 USD compared to the high of the end of yesterday. Converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, the world gold price is at 72.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Currently, each tael of SJC gold bars is nearly 20 million VND/tael more expensive than the world price while gold rings are 4 million VND higher.
