On the morning of May 7, at Bien Hoa airport ( Dong Nai ), the Air Defense - Air Force Service held a farewell ceremony for the squadrons returning to their units after completing their demonstration flight mission in celebration of the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

The farewell ceremony showed respect for the contributions of pilots, technicians and ground forces who participated in coordination and created a special performance in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City on April 30.

According to the flight plan, the squadrons moving to the field this morning included 12 helicopters, 5 Su-30MK2 fighters and 8 Yak-130 training aircraft.

At the helipad, ground technicians recheck all technical systems, recharge batteries, and review operating parameters before completing the final steps to prepare the helicopter for takeoff.

"Today is a transfer flight back to the unit, not a training flight, but the entire system is still thoroughly checked to ensure absolute safety" - a technical squadron leader said.

Immediately afterwards, luggage and equipment were quickly loaded onto the helicopter by staff, ready for the return journey to the unit.

Pilots and ground technicians say goodbye to each other on the taxiway to the apron in preparation for takeoff.

At 6am, each helicopter took off one by one. Of these, 5 helicopters from Regiment 917 (Division 370) returned to their units stationed in Can Tho. The remaining helicopters returned to their units in Da Nang and Hanoi .

Before leaving Bien Hoa airport, the pilots shook hands and said goodbye to each other after many months of flight training together at Regiment 935 (Division 370).

At around 7:00 a.m., the formation of 5 Su-30MK2s and 8 Yak-130s began moving to the runway, taking off one after another to Phu Cat airport (Binh Dinh) and Kep airport ( Bac Giang ).

Colonel Nguyen The Dung - Political Commissar of Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force - said that after nearly an hour of flying, he and his teammates completed the task of transferring the aircraft and landed safely at Phu Cat airport. After that, the pilots of Division 371 continued to carry out a new mission.

"The pilots are ready to carry out important missions for the country, including the upcoming 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd," Colonel Dung shared.

The pilots not only brought technical aerial performances but also demonstrated the strength and high combat readiness of the Vietnam People's Air Force.
