Wooden-legged striker Darwin Nunez joins Al Hilal, receiving a salary of nearly 14 billion per week

Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez has officially moved from Liverpool to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League with a salary tripled to around £400,000 per week (about 14 billion VND).

Darwin Nunez will sign a three-year contract with Al Hilal for a fee of £46.3 million plus add-ons. The 26-year-old will see his wages at Liverpool nearly triple from £140,000 a week to £400,000 a week.

In a statement announcing Darwin Nunez's departure, Liverpool said: "Everyone at the club would like to thank Darwin for his contribution and wish him and his family all the best for the future."

Darwin Nunez joined Liverpool in June 2022 from Portuguese side Benfica for an initial fee of £64m. He scored 40 goals in 143 appearances but started just eight Premier League games in their title-winning campaign last season.

Although considered the world's top striker, Darwin Nunez is called "wooden leg" by many fans because he often wastes delicious opportunities created by his teammates.

The striker's departure will allow Liverpool to continue pursuing Newcastle's Swedish striker Alexander Isak. Liverpool had previously made a £110 million offer for Isak, but Newcastle rejected it.
