Tien Giang: Mobilizing more than 9.2 billion VND to support poor patients, disabled people and orphans

(ABO) On the morning of June 18, the Association for the Support of Poor Patients, the Disabled and Orphans of Tien Giang Province (abbreviated as the Association) held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and the direction and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Sponsoring Association has closely followed the directions of the Central Association and the province in assisting the subjects (poor patients, disabled people and orphans). The activities of the Association are increasingly stable, legal, in-depth, practical, flexible and effective, contributing to the socio -economic development and social security in the locality. The Association has mobilized (in cash and in-kind) a total value of over 9.2 billion VND.

The Sponsoring Association continues to coordinate with departments, branches, organizations, newspapers and radio stations to propagate and disseminate policies and laws related to the poor, the disabled and orphans.

On the occasion of Vietnam Day for People with Disabilities (April 18), the Provincial Association presented 110 gifts to people with disabilities in the province with a total amount of 70.5 million VND; Heart surgery program with a total amount of 1.015 billion VND; Program to bring light to the poor blind due to cataract with a total cost of 258 million VND; Community medical examination and treatment program with a total cost of 35 million VND; The Provincial Association implemented the scholarship program "Supporting disabled and orphaned children to go to school" with a total amount of 262.2 million VND.

At the conference, delegates actively contributed ideas to spread the Association's work widely to all subjects in the province, as well as ideas on activities to make the Association more effective in the future.

Based on the results achieved in the first 6 months of the year, the Provincial Sponsorship Association proposed a work plan for the remaining 6 months of 2025.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Ly Hoang Chieu, Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial Sponsorship Association, thanked and acknowledged the delegates' contributions. Comrade Ly Hoang Chieu hopes that in the coming time, comrades in the Executive Committee of the Sponsorship Association will coordinate more to make the Association's work better and better.

In addition, during the time of the province's merger, the Association continued to fulfill its responsibility of "Humanity and charity"; continued to propagate and spread the Association's work to the poor patients, the disabled and orphans of the province; organized the giving of gifts to students during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
