On the morning of November 24, the expanded International and On-Demand Medical Examination and Treatment Center of the Central Geriatric Hospital was officially launched, demonstrating a strong transformation towards specialization and professionalism, increasingly better meeting the health care needs of the people, especially the elderly.
Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Nguyen Trung Anh, Director of the Central Geriatric Hospital, said that the hospital always identifies deep expertise as the core value to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment and bring practical benefits to patients. This expansion is not simply a change in scale, increasing services, but a step forward in medical examination and treatment in the direction of "More specialized - More comprehensive - More effective".
According to Dr. Trung Anh, the expanded center will operate many specialized clinics, built on a comprehensive care model. For example, the Obesity Clinic will meet the growing need for obesity management and prevention of metabolic and cardiovascular complications.

The center focuses on a number of pathological interventions, providing systematic assessment, consultation and psychological therapy services, making an important contribution to mental health care for the elderly and patients with psychological disorders.
In particular, the Center's Vaccination Room will provide a full range of vaccines according to the most updated recommendations, contributing to effective disease prevention and protecting public health.
"The establishment of these specialized clinics helps patients access high-quality medical services in an in-depth manner and in accordance with individual needs; thereby improving treatment effectiveness, improving quality of life and bringing peace of mind to each family," said Associate Professor Trung Anh.
He also affirmed that the launch of this Center demonstrates the determination to constantly innovate, improve service quality and develop specific care models for the elderly - one of the population groups that needs the most special attention from the health sector.
Dr. Truong Thi Nhu Y, Director of the Center for Examination and Treatment on Demand and Internationally, Central Geriatric Hospital, said that population aging is an inevitable global trend, including Vietnam.
The characteristic of the elderly is multi-morbidity, which means that in addition to taking medication, it is necessary to pay attention to geriatric syndromes. Therefore, in addition to treating common chronic diseases in the elderly, the center will focus on treating geriatric syndromes such as functional decline, movement and cognitive disorders; psychology, nutrition, and rehabilitation to improve the quality of life for the elderly. At the same time, the center will develop specialized services such as psychological counseling, treatment of nutritional disorders and aging-related problems.
"The center will focus on improving professional quality, applying new techniques and transferring them to lower levels. At the same time, the center will recruit and train high-quality human resources, including doctors, nurses and technicians, both domestically and internationally; open training courses on patient attitude and service towards patient satisfaction with the goal of improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for the elderly," said Dr. Nhu Y.
