Accordingly, this time, there were 48 citizens sent to do "light, high-paying jobs", including 6 women and 42 men, aged 17-45.
The Vietnamese Embassy has interviewed and verified initial information about 48 Vietnamese citizens being detained by Cambodian authorities in Phnom Penh City, on suspicion of "criminal activities and online fraud".
Some of these citizens were rescued at the request of the Vietnamese Embassy in Svay Rieng province; Kandal province and Sihanoukville city, Cambodia.
The Embassy requested that representatives of 19 provinces and cities whose citizens were handed over this time send a working group to coordinate with An Giang Provincial Police to receive citizens of their province.
Localities must organize investigations, verifications and thoroughly and strictly handle individuals and organizations that lure Vietnamese citizens under the guise of "finding jobs online", "easy work, high salary" to illegally leave the country to work at "online fraud centers" and "disguised casinos" in Cambodia.
Notably, in this group, there was Mr. Nguyen Van Doan (35 years old, residing in Buon Van Kieu, Cu Elang, Eaka, Dak Lak ) who was rescued and handed over (deported) to Vietnam on July 19 and Nguyen Van Doan was put on the "entry ban" list by Cambodia for 5 years.
However, Doan continued to illegally enter and exit Cambodia and call for help.

Recently, the number of Vietnamese citizens being lured and enticed to go to Cambodia to do "light work with high salaries" through official and unofficial channels continues to increase, with an organized nature. Many of the victims are children and minors, and there are many signs of human trafficking, fraud, and extortion.
Through immigration procedures, authorities discovered that only 7 of these citizens had passports, the rest did not have passports and had entered Cambodia illegally.
"The Cambodian side announced that among these, Nguyen Van Doan was permanently banned from entering Cambodia. Other citizens, depending on their passport, could be banned from entering Cambodia for 3 years, while the rest would be banned from entering for 5 years.
That is the announcement from Cambodia, as for Vietnam, the authorities will classify, verify, and clarify who committed the violations and hand them over to their localities for handling," said a representative of the Tinh Bien International Border Gate Border Guard Station.
