Overcoming difficulties in starting a business.

Entering the semi-finals of the 2025 Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Project Competition organized by the Central Youth Union, the MICE Experience Tourism Project of Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (born in 1997), Director of Hai Anh Booking Co., Ltd., left many impressions. What people remember most about Mr. Hai is his meaningful entrepreneurial story. Previously, he was a leukemia patient. After recovering from a bone marrow transplant, Mr. Hai always wanted to do something to change his fate, to show gratitude to life and those who helped him escape death. That was the motivation that urged him to start a business.

Having just undergone surgery costing hundreds of millions of dong, starting a business was not easy for Mr. Hai. The small amount of capital he had saved did not give him the opportunity to immediately implement large projects. At that time, Mr. Hai remembered the sharing of some friends and tourists when they visited his hometown. That was the reason that urged him to register a business, then open Hai Anh Booking Company Limited. Recalling the early days of starting a business, Mr. Hai shared: "At that time, I had to do all the work by myself, from management, tour routes... to cleaning. The difficulties were countless, but it helped me grow up and appreciate every achievement, no matter how small. Thanks to that, I have today."

Like Nguyen Van Hai, Hoang Huy Thanh (born in 1991), Head of Hoang Mai Specialty Production and Trading Cooperative, had to consider and calculate day and night to start a business because of limited capital. Studying business administration, Thanh understood that if he tried to do big projects, he would be exhausted and would have difficulty succeeding. Therefore, he spent all the 70 million VND he had saved to buy machinery and equipment to produce sweet potatoes - a specialty of his hometown. To improve product quality, he changed the process and production methods, invested more in labels, packaging... As a result, the cooperative's products were quickly accepted by many customers inside and outside the province. Recently, Thanh continued to successfully test and launch the product of dried coconut-coated honey bananas. "Knowing that my capital is limited, I both produce and trade, and accumulate investments. Thanks to that, business is relatively favorable," Thanh informed.

The startup stories of Mr. Thanh and Mr. Hai are similar to those of many other young people in Quang Tri . When starting a business, they only had a small amount of capital. Everyone understands that with just one wrong or hasty step, failure is inevitable. Therefore, right from the first steps, they cannot avoid worries. Those worries are reduced when young entrepreneurs receive attention and support from the Youth Union at all levels. Mr. Hoang Huy Thanh said: "The support of the Youth Union at all levels has given me strength and motivation to move forward."

Believe in great success.

Along with Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union, we visited the youth start-up models. Wherever we went, we saw cheerful eyes and gratitude. Mr. Toan said that in the 3 programs accompanying young people, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee paid special attention to the program accompanying young people to start and establish businesses. Because, in the rural areas where there are still difficulties, starting a business for young people still has many challenges. "We understand and sympathize with you. The Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union always consider accompanying young people to start and establish businesses as their responsibility," Mr. Toan affirmed.

With great determination, in recent times, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has advised on the development of many practical programs and projects to support young people in starting and establishing businesses. The creation of resources and favorable mechanisms for young people to start businesses has received attention. Youth Unions at all levels have simultaneously implemented many practical activities, closely following the needs of young people starting businesses. In the period of 2022-2025 alone, more than 10 large-scale creative startup events have been organized by the Provincial Youth Union, along with many training courses, forums, seminars... In the past 3 years, youth union chapters at all levels have consulted and introduced jobs to more than 172,000 union members and young people.

Understanding that the biggest concern of young entrepreneurs is capital, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has helped young people overcome difficulties. Thanks to the attention of the Youth Union at all levels, many members and young people have soon accessed capital sources, including loans to create jobs from the National Employment Fund through the Central Youth Union channel. Up to now, the total outstanding loan balance managed by the Union has reached over 1,500 billion VND. Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Thao, residing in Khe Sanh commune, said: "I started my business by building a flower garden model to serve visitors and tourists. While facing difficulties in capital, I was very happy to receive support from the Youth Union at all levels. The job creation loan of 100 million VND has helped me."

Thanks to the active support of the Youth Union at all levels, in recent times, the start-up and career movement of Quang Tri youth has been increasingly developed. The youth start-up network has been built, attracting the participation of about 2,600 union members and young entrepreneurs. The whole province currently has 86 economic development clubs and cooperatives and more than 510 youth economic models with an income of over 100 million VND/year. Career guidance and start-up clubs are increasingly established in schools.

The above positive signals further fuel the belief that in addition to the young director Nguyen Van Hai, Chairman of the 9X Hoang Huy Thanh Cooperative, in the coming time, there will be more union members and young people in Quang Tri who will achieve great success even though they start their businesses with only small capital.
