Timely financial support
In mid-May 2025, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Thac Gian Ward (Thanh Khe District) organized a groundbreaking ceremony to build a new house for Mr. Dang Khanh Thuan (Group 44). Mr. Thuan has no wife or children, is receiving social security for the disabled, and lives with his siblings in a dilapidated house. To help his family improve their living conditions, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Khe District supported 60 million VND to build a new house. According to the leader of Thac Gian Ward, this is one of two households that received support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the second phase of 2025.
Party Secretary, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Thac Gian Ward Nguyen Thi My Canh said that up to now, the entire ward has completed and exceeded the plan for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the first phase for 19/18 houses, including 1 newly built house and 18 repaired houses; started construction on 2/2 houses in the second phase - 2025. In addition, the locality has proactively mobilized organizations, units, individuals, and philanthropists to directly support funding for 10 households with degraded houses but not meeting the conditions to receive support from the state budget, with a total amount of 330 million VND. Thereby, helping all households with degraded houses to rebuild and repair their houses to stabilize their lives.
The Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Hoa An Ward (Cam Le District) has just organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase of temporary and dilapidated house elimination for 14 households, including 2 policy households and 12 poor and near-poor households. At the groundbreaking ceremony, the households received financial support, a total of 440 million VND, to carry out repairs. A representative of the People's Committee of Hoa An Ward said that so far, 7 houses have been repaired and the remaining 7 houses are being repaired, striving to complete before June 5. Previously, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Hoa An Ward completed the first phase of temporary and dilapidated house elimination for 11 households, helping families settle down and feel secure in doing business and living.
According to Decision No. 1290/QD-UBND of the City People's Committee on approving the results of synthesizing the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the city, in the second phase, there are 224 houses in need of support, including 40 newly built houses and 184 repaired houses. Specifically, the districts: Hai Chau 25 houses, Thanh Khe 17 houses, Son Tra 13 houses, Lien Chieu 92 houses, Cam Le 34 houses, Hoa Vang district 43 houses. Up to now, localities are speeding up the progress of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the second phase, striving to complete before June 30.
"Skillful mass mobilization" helps eliminate temporary houses
To support people in reducing costs and speeding up the progress of building and repairing houses, localities have many initiatives to mobilize the cooperation and contributions of units, businesses, philanthropists, associations and organizations in the construction process. Since its launch, the Construction Support Team for Repairing Dilapidated Houses in Hoa An Ward has been a strong arm in supporting the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
Chairman of Hoa An Ward People's Committee Nguyen Kim Thanh said that the members of the support team are the regular militia force, the secretaries of the Youth Union branches of residential areas, and the security and order protection team at the grassroots level. This is a young force, full of the spirit of volunteerism, not afraid of hardship, always actively present at construction sites. From supporting the demolition of old houses, transporting materials to whitewashing and painting walls, the members of the support team have all completed the work excellently, helping to reduce costs for the people, contributing significantly to the timely completion of the project.
In Hoa Vang district, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the communes implemented the model of "smart mass mobilization" to mobilize diverse resources and join hands to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. Typically, the Party Committee of Hoa Khuong commune implemented the model of "Mobilizing resources to support livelihoods to help poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households escape poverty", mobilizing cadres and party members to contribute 45 million VND; the City Architects Association supported 50 million VND to help poor household Nguyen Thi Xi (Go Ha village) build a new house.
Meanwhile, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Hoa Phong Commune mobilized Trong Truong Construction and Trading Company Limited and Cao Hoang Luc Joint Stock Company to support 180 million VND; officers and soldiers of Battalion 75, General Staff of Military Region 5 supported dozens of working days to help Mr. Che Mau Nhan and Mrs. Bui Thi Thu (both residing in Cam Toai Tay village) have new houses to stabilize their lives. In particular, leaders of Hoa Vang district regularly went to the field to inspect the situation of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, they visited and encouraged the spirit of volunteers and armed forces participating in supporting working days to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Thereby, demonstrating the close attention and dedication of the government, contributing to bringing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to an early finish line.
