Rice consumption in Thanh Hoa province increased sharply.

Currently, in Thanh Hoa province, there are 9 rice processing enterprises; nearly 6,900 milling facilities; thousands of agents, shops trading and selling rice. According to some agents and shops trading rice, currently, the price of rice in Thanh Hoa market is following the general price of the domestic market, but the consumption volume has increased by 40-50% compared to last month.

The reason is that it is not yet the rice harvest season, there are no local raw materials, so factories and agents in the province have to increase imports from the southern provinces. When rice prices increase, agents in the province have to increase purchases to stockpile.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Thanh Hoa province's rice output reaches 1.36 million tons per year. In the context of sharp increases in world rice prices, the domestic market has seen speculation, hoarding, and rice dealers pushing up prices abnormally high... Therefore, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to regularly collect statistics on rice output in the market, assess the supply capacity in the province to have timely solutions to stabilize the market and prices, ensuring benefits for consumers.
