The body of a 10-year-old boy swept away by floodwaters was found in Son La.

S and his friends were playing at the Mon stream bank in Moc Son ward (Son La) when they unfortunately slipped and fell into the stream and were swept away by floodwaters.

Fire Police and Rescue Force of Son La Province Police are trying to search for victims swept away by flood.

At 5:35 p.m. on October 6, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Son La Province Police received a report that a resident slipped and fell into a stream in the Mon stream area, Moc Son Ward, Son La Province. Immediately after receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department mobilized 1 fire truck, 7 officers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area 3 and rescue vehicles to the scene to coordinate with other forces, local authorities and the public to participate in the search for the victim.

Authorities found the child's body about 1km from the accident site.

Through grasping the situation, it is known that the victim is HNS (born 2016), a 4th grade student at Dong Sang Primary and Secondary School; residing in residential group 1, Moc Son ward, Son La province. While playing with friends on the bridge over the Mon stream flowing through Moc Son ward, the child slipped and fell into the stream and was swept away by floodwaters.

The Fire Police and Rescue Force deployed a team to coordinate with other forces to conduct a search along the Mon stream area to search for the victim. The search process encountered many difficulties due to the high water level, strong currents, dark and rainy weather, and difficult terrain. However, with the highest spirit and responsibility, at 8:30 p.m. the same day, the search forces found the child's body about 1km from the accident site and handed it over to the family to arrange the funeral according to local customs.
