Floods on the Ba and Kon rivers are remaining at very high levels, many places have exceeded alert level 3 and are likely to exceed historical levels. Meanwhile, a series of rivers from Hue to Khanh Hoa continue to rise, causing widespread flooding and increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides. The meteorological agency has warned of natural disaster risk levels from 1 to 4 in many areas, of which Eastern Dak Lak and river basins in the Central Highlands are identified as particularly dangerous.

The flood on the Kon River has peaked and is receding. The flood peak at Thanh Hoa station is 9.09m (8:00 p.m. on November 19), and on BĐ3 is 1.09m.

Currently, the flood on the Ba River is fluctuating at its peak; the flood on the Dinh Ninh Hoa River, the Cai Nha Trang River, the Cai Phan Rang River (Khanh Hoa), the Krong Ana River (Dak Lak) is rising; the flood on the Huong River, the Bo River (Hue City), the Kon River and other rivers from Da Nang City to Khanh Hoa is receding.

Forecast warning

In the next 6 hours, the flood on Ba River is likely to peak above level 3 (exceeding the historical flood level in 1993: 5.21m), then slowly decrease.

In the next 12 hours, flood on Ba River will continue to decrease and stay at high level above BĐ3; flood on Kon River will drop below BĐ3; Krong Ana River will continue to increase and stay below BĐ3; flood on Thu Bon River will drop below BĐ2.

In the next 12-24 hours, flood on Ba River fluctuates at high level above BĐ3; flood on Kon River falls below BĐ2; Krong Ana River continues to rise and is at BĐ3; flood on Thu Bon River falls and is above BĐ1.

Warning: In the next 24 hours, floods on Huong River, Bo River, Vu Gia River, Tra Khuc River will fluctuate at level 1-2 and above level 2; other rivers in Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will continue to rise and at level 2-3, some rivers above level 3.

Widespread flooding occurred in provinces and cities from Hue city to Khanh Hoa . There is a high risk of flash floods on rivers and streams and landslides on slopes in provinces and cities from Hue city to Khanh Hoa.

Flood disaster risk level warning:

  • Eastern Dak Lak region: Level 4 (combined natural disasters: floods, flash floods, landslides)
  • River basins from Gia Lai province to Khanh Hoa province: Level 3
  • River basins from Hue city to Quang Ngai province: Level 1–2

River floods inundate low-lying areas along the river, affecting activities such as waterway transport, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives and socio-economic activities.
