
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 a.m. on October 18, the center of the tropical depression was at about 13.3 degrees North latitude; 127.8 degrees East longitude, in the sea east of the central Philippines.
The strongest wind near the center reaches level 7 (50-61 km/h), gusting to level 9. The tropical depression moves west at a speed of 20-25 km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24-48 hours, the tropical depression will likely strengthen into a storm. By 1:00 a.m. on October 19, the storm will move west, then turn west-northwest, at a speed of 20-25 km/hour, centered at about 14.4 degrees North latitude; 123.6 degrees East longitude, on the northeastern coastal area of the central Philippines, with strong winds of level 8, gusting to level 10.
At 1:00 a.m. on October 20, the storm continued to move in the West-Northwest direction, at a speed of 20-25 km/hour, centered at about 17.1 degrees North latitude; 119.0 degrees East longitude, in the eastern sea area of the North East Sea, with strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 10.
The dangerous area in the East Sea is from latitude 15.0 degrees North to 19.0 degrees North, east of longitude 117.0 degrees East. The natural disaster risk level is level 3, the affected area is the sea area northeast of the East Sea.
In the next 48-72 hours, the storm will move mainly in the West-Northwest direction, about 20 km per hour and is likely to strengthen.
At sea, from October 19, the eastern sea area of the North East Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, near the storm center it will be level 8, gusting to level 10, waves from 2.5-4.5 m high, rough seas.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that from October 20-22, the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago) is likely to be affected by strong winds of level 9-11, gusting to level 13.
Vessels operating in these dangerous sea areas need to be wary of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
