According to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment, the socio-economic situation in April and the first four months of 2024 developed in a positive direction with bright spots in the economy .
Trade, services, and transportation activities are showing a fairly strong upward trend, the market prices are stable, and the supply and demand of essential consumer goods are ensured.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached over 6,000 billion VND, an increase of 10.5% compared to the same period in 2023.
Overall, in the first four months of 2024, total retail sales of goods and services are estimated to reach over 24 trillion VND (a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2023).
Tourism activities were bustling, especially during the long holiday period (April 30th and May 1st). The total number of overnight visitors in Quang Nam province in April was estimated at 455,000, an increase of 11.7% compared to the previous month and a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, besides the positive aspects, the province's socio-economic situation still faces difficulties, including a decrease in budget revenue from hydropower and alcoholic beverages; disease outbreaks in livestock; and a disbursement rate that is higher than the same period last year but lower than the national average.

Furthermore, the number of newly registered businesses decreased compared to the same period last year, along with a significant increase in the number of businesses withdrawing from the market, indicating that businesses are facing many difficulties in their investment, production, and business activities.
