
During the year, the Department completed 02 key tasks, suspended 01 task and continued to implement 12 major tasks according to Plan No. 014/KH-UBND dated July 21, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee. The tasks focus on breakthrough development of key industries such as shrimp, crab, rice; implementing the OCOP Program; building new rural areas; strengthening management of resources, land and environmental protection. Key plans and projects were implemented synchronously, contributing to maintaining growth in Region I, stabilizing production and rural livelihoods, affirming the pivotal role of the agricultural and environmental sectors in the socio -economic development of the province.
Entering 2026 - the first year of implementing the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period 2026-2030, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has set a growth target of over 4% for Region I, aiming for the model of "ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers". The focus is on implementing 20 key tasks including developing shrimp, crab, marine farming and protecting aquatic resources; promoting collective economy, OCOP products; building new rural areas associated with sustainable poverty reduction; promulgating regulations, norms and service prices in the fields of natural resources, forestry and environment; at the same time implementing the Project to investigate, evaluate and draft a Plan for managing the quality of surface water environment of rivers and lakes in Ca Mau province.
In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to promote the transformation of production structure, application of science and technology, improvement of productivity, quality and value of key products, contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals in 2026, creating a solid foundation for the period 2026-2030.
