On July 2, the working delegation of the Editorial Team of the 14th National Party Congress's Economic - Social Subcommittee, led by Comrade Cao Viet Sinh - Senior Expert, Former Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Investment , Permanent Editorial Team, had a working session in the province to develop documents and reports for the 14th National Party Congress. Receiving and working with the delegation were Comrade Phan Trong Tan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of departments, branches and units of the province.

To develop a Report on the implementation results of the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan, period 2021-2025; 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan, period 2026-2030 to submit to the 14th National Party Congress, the Working Group went to the field and consulted in 6 regions and a number of localities across the country, including Phu Tho province.

At the working session, the delegation and delegates listened to a report on the results of implementing the main goals, tasks and solutions for socio-economic development of Phu Tho province in the 3 years of 2021-2023 and the first 6 months of 2024. In the context of many complicated developments in the world and the region, global challenges, but with determination, innovation, and the solidarity of the entire political system, Phu Tho has had flexible adaptation solutions and achieved remarkable results. After more than 3 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 19th National Party Congress of the Provincial Party Committee, up to now, 11/17 targets have met and exceeded the Resolution's targets. GRDP economic growth has continuously increased higher than the national average and ranked first in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region (in the period of 2021-2023, it increased by 7.29%, in the first 6 months of the year, it increased by 8.16%).

Industry and exports have grown strongly, ranking among the top 10 localities in the country. The economic scale has increased by more than 1.3 times compared to 2020; the investment and business environment continues to improve; in 2023, the PCI index will be among the top 10 localities with the best governance quality. Urban and new rural construction has made much progress; transport infrastructure has developed rapidly. Social sectors remain stable, the quality of education at all levels and grades has been improved; healthcare has been focused on, the quality of human resources meets the needs of local labor recruitment; national defense and security have been firmly consolidated. Administrative reform has changed significantly, the rate of administrative procedures received and resolved online has reached over 81%.

However, in socio-economic development, the province still has some limitations such as: Production and business activities of many traditional industries are facing difficulties; services and tourism are not commensurate with potential; have not attracted many projects with high added value, creating momentum for long-term growth...

The leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment presented the results of implementing the main goals, tasks and solutions of the Socio-Economic Development Plan of Phu Tho province.

Based on the current socio-economic development situation, the province proposed a number of contents such as: Requesting central ministries and branches to pay attention and promptly create favorable conditions for the implementation of the logistics center project according to the planning in Phu Tho province; paying attention and facilitating the allocation of public investment capital for the period 2026-2030 in the implementation of investment projects to build a number of key transport projects, which are important in expanding the development space of the province and connecting industrial parks; promptly promulgating specific policies for the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. The Central Government needs to further promote decentralization and delegation of authority so that localities can solve work more quickly and effectively...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Trong Tan answered and clarified the opinions of the Working Group on the socio-economic development situation of the province and solutions for implementation in the period of 2026-2030. In the coming time, Phu Tho province will continue to closely follow, seriously and resolutely implement, and strive to exceed 17/17 targets set by the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress. Focus on directing the implementation of the Phu Tho Provincial Planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, with strategic breakthrough requirements and tasks, striving to build Phu Tho into a leading province in the Northern Midlands and Mountains. At the same time, Phu Tho will continue to promote the improvement of the investment and business environment; review and remove difficulties and obstacles, and speed up the progress of key projects.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Cao Viet Sinh - Head of the working delegation congratulated the achievements in socio-economic development of Phu Tho province in the past time. The working delegation will receive opinions from Phu Tho province, which are an important basis for synthesizing, building documents and reports to submit to the 14th National Congress of the Party.
