Organizing the festival of the quintessence of the great forest and the blue sea in 2025

(GLO)- On July 29, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued Plan No. 12/KH-UBND on organizing the festival of the quintessence of the great forest and the blue sea in 2025.

The festival is expected to take place for 5 days (from August 29 to September 2, 2025) at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square and several other locations such as the Provincial Convention Center, Children's Park, 5-star hotel in Quy Nhon area, Victory Square, Xuan Dieu Street and central streets of Quy Nhon.

The festival aims to promote the province's strengths and potentials, contributing to preserving and promoting the quintessence of the land and local people. Attracting tourists to Quy Nhon beach, contributing to the development of the night-time economy , the marine economy , stimulating tourism services, cuisine and seafood specialties from ocean tuna are upgraded to be processed in a diverse style and taste for international tourists.

At the same time, promote and publicize the legendary basalt land with its traditional cultural identity of the Central Highlands and its typical specialties and agricultural products such as coffee - the leading product in the local agricultural export industry. Honor fishermen, inspire fishermen to confidently go out to sea, stick to the sea and contribute to the sustainable economic development of the fishing industry of the province in particular and of Vietnam in general.

The 2025 festival of the quintessence of the great forest - the blue sea is expected to take place for 5 days (from August 29 to September 2) at the following locations: Nguyen Tat Thanh Square will host the opening ceremony, light festival and organize the Central Highlands coffee and gong culture festival. The Provincial Convention Center will organize a press conference. Children's Park (next to Nguyen Tat Thanh Square) will host a culinary festival associated with the OCOP product display area and traditional craft villages (with performances of cutting and filleting tuna for culinary purposes). 5-star hotels in Quy Nhon area: organize receptions and performances of cutting and filling tuna. Victory Square, Xuan Dieu Street: organize traditional art programs. Xuan Dieu Street and central streets of Quy Nhon: organize street festivals.

With the theme: “Aspiration for the blue sea - the shining forest”, the opening ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. on August 29 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square. At the same time, also at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, the Central Highlands coffee and gong culture festival will take place. The content of the festival includes: introducing the Central Highlands gong culture space (including introducing brocade weaving products, traditional musical instruments such as lithophone, t'rung, etc.); introducing coffee culture - a product that makes Vietnamese agricultural products famous in the world; organizing free coffee brewing; organizing coffee farmers, coffee processors to roast and grind coffee in the traditional way of the Central Highlands ethnic people and guiding tourists to experience it.

The culinary festival “Delicious dishes from basalt land and the sea” associated with the OCOP product display area and traditional craft villages will open at 5:30 p.m. on August 29 and end at 8:00 p.m. on September 2 at Children's Park (next to Nguyen Tat Thanh Square) with a scale of about 100 standard booths and 1,000 m2 of service space.

In particular, the culinary festival includes activities such as: organizing stalls introducing tuna cuisine processed in a variety of culinary tastes of different countries such as: Japanese dishes (sashimi), Korean dishes (kimpap), European dishes (steak, shake), dishes typical of the province's traditional taste (tuna noodles, tuna pancakes...), creative dishes (giant bread with tuna filling in oyster sauce, grilled tuna bamboo rice with oyster sauce...). The culinary stalls introduce foods, drinks... under the theme "Delicious dishes from basalt land and the sea". The exhibition area includes organizing trade of stalls of craft village products, OCOP products, souvenirs, tourism products of the province and some other provinces.

The reception and performance of cutting and filleting a tuna will take place at 5:30 p.m. on August 30 at a 5-star hotel in Quy Nhon area, with a performance of cutting and filleting a tuna to entertain and serve delegates attending the opening ceremony of the festival.

The traditional art program takes place on August 31 and September 1 for 90 minutes (from 7:10 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. every day) at Victory Square, Xuan Dieu Street, including: Binh Dinh martial arts performance, gong performance and Central Highlands ethnic musical instruments, traditional art performance (tuong and bai choi).

Also on August 31 and September 1, with the theme "Colors of the Sea", the street festival takes place with a number of activities such as: Day 1: 150 minutes including the opening program of the street festival (60 minutes) at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square and the parade on the central streets (90 minutes). Day 2: 120 minutes including the parade program on the streets and tourist exchanges on the parade. The convoy departs from the gathering point at Children's Park, moves on the central streets, towards Xuan Dieu Street and stops at Victory Square.

The program ended with a light festival (instead of the closing ceremony) held at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square.

In this Plan, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to implement it.
