Among the 100 people honored this year, the oldest is 60, the youngest is 28. The 100 people honored this time donated a total of 4,800 units of blood and platelets, each person donated an average of 48 times, many individuals donated more than 100 times, and at the same time mobilized thousands of people to donate blood. The typical voluntary blood donors come from all over the country, working in the fields of health , schools; in businesses, armed forces, many people have rare blood types.

At the ceremony, Professor Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, affirmed that the voluntary blood donation movement nationwide in recent years has ensured blood supply for emergency care and patient treatment. In the first 5 months of this year alone, the country has received nearly 850,000 units of blood, reaching 50% of the yearly plan, from blood donation campaigns such as "Pink Spring Festival", "Red Sunday", "Red Journey" and the response of the whole society.
