Attending the ceremony were Politburo members: Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee, leaders of Party committees, the Office of the General Secretary, representatives of leaders of affiliated Party committees, and advisory agencies of the National Assembly Party Committee...

At the ceremony, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Hoang Dang Quang, authorized by the Politburo, announced decisions on personnel work. Accordingly, the Politburo decided: Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ceases to participate in the 13th Party Central Committee Secretariat, ceases to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, ceases to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations for the 2020-2025 term; mobilizes, assigns, and appoints to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. The Politburo also issued a Decision for Comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, ceases to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.

On behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam presented the decision and flowers to congratulate comrade Do Van Chien.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam stated: Implementing the Party's policy and preparing well for the successful organization of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Politburo has mobilized and assigned a number of comrades of the Politburo and the Secretariat to perform tasks. In particular, the Politburo decided: Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, will cease to participate in the 13th Secretariat, cease to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, cease to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations for the 2020-2025 term; mobilize, assign, and appoint to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The General Secretary stated that Comrade Do Van Chien had participated in the revolution and matured from practical activities at the grassroots level; had a lot of experience in gathering and mobilizing the masses and, together with the Politburo and the Secretariat, participated in leading all aspects of the Party and the country's work for a long time. In any assigned task, he always tried his best and completed his tasks very well, especially during his time as a member of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Comrade Do Van Chien's trust in being assigned to participate in the work of the National Assembly will strengthen the Party's leadership, making the National Assembly increasingly promote its role and position in the political system.

The General Secretary hopes that Comrade Do Van Chien, in his new position, will continue to unite with comrades in the National Assembly Party Committee, the National Assembly, and the National Assembly Standing Committee to lead the National Assembly to complete its tasks, organize and well implement the Party's guidelines, policies, and decisions of the National Assembly in the coming time.

The General Secretary also asked comrades in the National Assembly, the National Assembly Party Committee, and the National Assembly Standing Committee to continue to maintain the tradition of solidarity and unity, creating more strength to coordinate to successfully complete tasks; comrades in the Fatherland Front Party Committee and central organizations always stand side by side with the National Assembly, continue to promote the tradition of solidarity and coordination so that all agencies can successfully complete their tasks.

In his acceptance speech, comrade Do Van Chien expressed his emotion when General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Politburo, handed over the decision to assign and appoint him to the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee; emphasizing that this is both a great honor and a new responsibility, and he must strive to fulfill it well.

Comrade Do Van Chien respectfully thanked the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and General Secretary To Lam for entrusting him with the new responsibility. In his new position, Comrade Do Van Chien affirmed that he will continuously study, cultivate, practice moral qualities, perfect working methods, unite, be devoted, and do his best together with the Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to successfully complete all tasks of the agency.
