On October 16, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , at the invitation of Finnish President Alexander Stubb, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, will pay an official visit to Finland from October 20 to 22.

Earlier, at a regular press conference held this afternoon, October 16, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that Finland is a long-time friendly partner of Vietnam. In terms of politics and diplomacy, the two sides regularly exchange delegations at all levels, closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations, ASEAN and the EU.

Cooperation in the fields of economics, trade and investment between the two countries has developed. Cooperation between the two countries in other fields such as defense, security, education and training, agriculture, environment, culture, people-to-people exchange, tourism and local cooperation has also developed well.

During his official visit to Finland, General Secretary To Lam will hold talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, meet with the Finnish Prime Minister, First Vice President of the Finnish Parliament, Chairman of the Communist Party of Finland, and meet with a number of prominent Finnish businesses, as well as have a number of other important foreign affairs activities.
