Many newspapers reported that this morning, at the Ho Chi Minh City Monument Park, the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee, representatives of the leaders of the Central and City press agencies, collectives and individuals who won press awards, along with outstanding reporters and editors led by the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi, respectfully offered the great President Ho Chi Minh beautiful flowers, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
On the same morning, at Lam Son Park (District 1), the Organizing Committee for Celebrating Major Holidays of the city in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports opened a photo exhibition with the theme "Vietnamese Revolutionary Press - A century of accompanying the nation".

With 100 images on display, the exhibition will introduce President Ho Chi Minh - the one who laid a solid foundation for the Vietnamese revolutionary press; Thanh Nien Newspaper - the official mouthpiece of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association; the history of the country's press as well as the arduous but proud process of the Ho Chi Minh City press since the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country; introduce the imprints from the first newspaper pages, the journey of innovation and development of the city's press; the city's press joining hands for the community, for national security, social order and the city's leaders' attention to the press.

The exhibition will take place at 4 locations: Dong Khoi Street (in front of the city's Department of Culture and Sports headquarters), Dong Khoi Street (opposite Chi Lang Park), the City Opera House and Lam Son Park.

VietNamPlus reported that recently, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the People's Committee of Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, District 1 to organize the launching ceremony of the national historical relic signboard of the Dan Chung Newspaper Headquarters. The event aims to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
At the ceremony, Ms. Tran Anh Dao, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, said that Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21 every year, is an occasion to show gratitude to journalists who have contributed to building a strong revolutionary press, truthfully reflecting social life, spreading inspirational stories and examples.

In order to preserve historical values and honor the contributions of generations of journalists, the Ward People's Committee has renovated and installed a sign introducing the National Historical Relic of the Dan Chung Newspaper Headquarters at 43 Le Thi Hong Gam (District 1).
Dan Chung Newspaper was established in 1938, at 43 Hamelin Street - Saigon (now 43 Le Thi Hong Gam). This is a forum for propagating Marxism-Leninism, propagating the Party's revolutionary line to the public at home and abroad; winning the fight for freedom of speech, contributing to enriching the Vietnamese language, and contributing brilliant pages in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
Photo exhibition "Fatherland - 80 autumns of independence"
According to the Women's Newspaper, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists announced the organization of a current affairs and art photo exhibition with the theme "Fatherland - 80 independent autumns".
According to the organizers, this is not only an exhibition, but also a call, a journey to find the source of emotions, depicting a visual epic of Vietnam. The exhibition will also be a vivid demonstration of the development of Vietnamese photography in reflecting the important issues of the country.

Flood control canal project for the most populous district of Ho Chi Minh City after 4 years of renovation
VietNamNet noted that the traffic route combined with the installation of box culverts of the Ba Tieng canal renovation project has been completed and put into use. The 235m long open canal section of the project is currently under construction for the remaining items.
The Ba Tieng canal renovation project started in October 2021 to help drain and prevent flooding in an area of about 300 hectares, 2.6km long, passing through 3 wards: An Lac, An Lac A and Binh Tri Dong B. Currently, Binh Tan district with about 800,000 people, is considered the most populous district in Ho Chi Minh City.
The project is invested by the Binh Tan District Construction Investment Project Management Board with a total investment of more than 880 billion VND, from the Ho Chi Minh City budget.
The project is divided into two parts: construction of a traffic route combined with installation of box culverts on the section from Inner Ring Road to Ho Hoc Lam Street; and the remaining section from Ho Hoc Lam Street to Nuoc Len Canal is built in the form of an open canal, combined with traffic routes on both sides of the canal.
Currently, the road construction section combined with the installation of box culverts of the Ba Tieng canal renovation project, which is over 1km long, has been completed and put into use. The 14m wide road surface is paved with asphalt and clearly marked, creating a spacious appearance for the area. The median strip and traffic signs are fully installed, making travel more convenient and safer. The image of the polluted, garbage-filled canal has almost disappeared, giving way to a clean, airy space.
Ho Chi Minh City approved the project to relocate 39,600 houses along canals in 15 districts and Thu Duc City.
Lao Dong Newspaper reported that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just approved the Urban Remodeling Project for residential areas on and along rivers, canals and ditches in the period 2025 - 2030.
According to the project, from 1993 to 2025, Ho Chi Minh City has relocated and cleared 44,508 houses on and along canals. However, the whole city still has 398 rivers, canals and streams that have not been renovated, distributed in 15 districts and Thu Duc City (including Districts 4, 6, 7, 8, 12, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh District, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be, Can Gio and Thu Duc City). The total scale of relocation in these areas is estimated at about 39,600 houses.

Ho Chi Minh City aims to basically complete the relocation and resettlement of all people living on and along rivers, canals and ditches by 2030. Thereby, the city will clear the flow, improve environmental sanitation, renovate urban areas and exploit land along rivers, canals and ditches for economic development.
Regarding financial resources, the City will allocate medium-term public investment capital for the period 2026 - 2030 to serve relocation, site clearance, and resettlement housing construction. At the same time, it will develop a mechanism to mobilize all social resources and encourage the form of public-private partnership (PPP).

Accordingly, after a month of peak deployment (from May 15 to June 15, 2025), the force inspected 137 cases and handled 137 violations. The total value of the infringing goods forced to be destroyed was up to VND 2.21 billion. In the first 6 months of 2025 (up to June 14, 2025), the entire force inspected 533 cases and handled 526 violations, with a total fine of nearly VND 20 billion. In particular, the unit transferred 4 cases with signs of criminality to the investigation agency.
Notably, the number of violations decreased by more than 68% compared to the same period last year, but the tricks are increasingly sophisticated and difficult to identify, especially when the subjects take advantage of online business models and social networks to remain anonymous, making it difficult to inspect and trace.
Some typical cases discovered include more than 4,300 units of unlabeled vegetarian food in Binh Tri Dong ward (Binh Tan district) and 2 tons of dried red apples of unknown origin in An Lac ward.
Ho Chi Minh City strengthens strict handling of cars stopping and parking illegally
According to information on Phap Luat TP newspaper, the Patrol Team, Traffic Police Department (PC08), Ho Chi Minh City Police said that the unit has increased patrols and strictly handled cases of cars stopping and parking in the wrong places to ensure traffic order and safety on key routes.

According to this unit, in the first 6 months of 2025, the force has recorded 915 cases of cars violating the law by stopping at "no stopping and parking" signs; parking at "no parking" or "no stopping and parking" signs. This is one of the direct causes of traffic obstruction, posing a potential risk of traffic jams and accidents.
Central routes such as Pham Ngoc Thach, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Tu Xuong... are identified as hot spots, where violations often occur despite having a clear system of signs.
PC08 Ho Chi Minh City Police said that patrols are carried out regularly, combining forces directly on duty with technical means such as cameras to handle fines. This helps promptly detect and strictly handle violations in accordance with legal regulations.
