Summary of the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards 2024

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Vo Thanh Do informed that after the launching period, the Organizing Committee received 81 works from 12 units, a decrease of 8 works compared to 2023. Of which, there were 16 printed works, 29 electronic works; 23 television works and 13 radio works.

The content of the entries must follow the theme and requirements of the contest. The jury has organized the scoring and selected 23 works for awards, and selected 8 works to submit to the 2024 National Golden Hammer and Sickle Award.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the Party committees, Party organizations, press agencies and journalism teams for their response and positive results for this year's press award.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee commented that, following the successes of previous seasons, the 9th Ben Tre Province Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Award in 2024 continues to receive the attention of leadership and direction from Party committees at all levels, sectors, and the Journalists Association, especially the response from cadres, party members, professional and non-professional journalists, and reporters from central and local press and media agencies; this is a press award of profound political significance, continuing to affirm the position, role, and importance of Party building and political system building.

Thereby, contributing to preventing and repelling the degradation of political ideology, lifestyle ethics and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, consolidating and strengthening the close relationship between the Party and the People.

According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, each journalist will have different approaches to their works, but in general, there will be journalistic works that have impact and bring practical results to people's lives.

The works are all invested and have a party spirit, thereby contributing to raising awareness among cadres, party members and people, and trust in the leadership of the Party. These efforts are a combination of many factors, including the guidance of the Central Committee, the Organizing Committee of the National Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, and the province. The potential and strength of journalism in Ben Tre is huge, rich in creativity, but it needs a strong breakthrough with higher determination to meet the expectations of the province.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also recalled the proud tradition of Ben Tre journalism. Among them were the daughter of Mr. Do Chieu - Poet Suong Nguyet Anh - the first female editor in chief of Vietnam; Scholar Truong Vinh Ky - who was the Editor-in-Chief of the first national language newspaper; Comrade Tran Van Kiet - who participated in the role of international communism among countries and participated in the editorial board of the newspaper "Dan Chung" - the first newspaper published in July 1938...

From the pride of previous generations of journalists, the generations of journalists today continue to transform into aspirations and determination in contributing to the journalism career of the province. There will be more excellent journalists and journalism groups, with names throughout the province, expanding to the region and the whole country.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam suggested many important contents that the press team needs to pay more attention to in the coming time. Especially in 2025, which is considered a great moment, a turning point for the nation and in that changing rhythm, Ben Tre province will also strive forward, break out, and accelerate.

Propaganda in all fields, from ensuring national defense, security, maintaining order and social safety, socio -economic development issues, party building, government building, social security, innovation in all aspects...

Highlights include the 65th anniversary of the Dong Khoi movement, January 17 was recognized as the province's Traditional Day; the Long-haired Army workshop, the workshop on Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh; towards the Party Congresses at all levels; building new rural areas; promoting major projects and works of the province; developing green and sustainable tourism; the theme of fighting waste - practicing thrift...

At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 23 works.

Print category: 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes and 3 consolation prizes. First prize: Series of articles "4 good Party cells, 4 good grassroots Party committees" by author Pham Tuyet (Dong Khoi Newspaper).

E-newspaper category: There is 1 second prize, 2 third prizes and 3 consolation prizes. Second prize: The work "Ben Tre Province Planning: Aspiration for Fast and Sustainable Development" by the group of authors: Cam Truc, Thach Thao, My Hanh (Dong Khoi Newspaper).

Radio category: There is 1 second prize, 1 third prize, 3 consolation prizes. Second prize: Work: Thanh Phu "catches up" - "overcomes" typical in the "New Dong Khoi" emulation movement by the group of authors: Le Huynh Vu, Nguyen Minh Mung, Tran Anh Tuan (Center for Culture, Sports, Radio and Tourism of Thanh Phu district).

Television category: There are 2 third prizes and 3 consolation prizes. Two third prizes: Work: “Electronic Party Member Handbook”: New progress in Party building in Ben Tre by the group of authors: Trung Tri, Minh Nhut, Hong Nhu, Khanh Trinh, Minh Tuyen (Ben Tre Radio and Television Station) and the work Promoting the role of farmers in collective economic development by the group of authors: Duy Tan, Phuc Hau (Ben Tre Radio and Television Station).
