Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung spoke to the press on the occasion of his upcoming visit.
Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung said that since the two countries normalized relations in 1995, every sitting US president has visited Vietnam. Now President Joe Biden continues this fine tradition.
What is especially meaningful is that the visit takes place on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive partnership (2013-2023).
With the comprehensive and extensive development of bilateral relations, President Joe Biden's visit will create more momentum to bring bilateral relations to a new height.

Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung said that this is the spirit that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Joe Biden agreed on during the high-level phone call on March 29.
For Vietnam, welcoming US President Joe Biden on a state visit is a contribution to implementing a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, and comprehensive and deep international integration.
"I believe that the important results of the visit will practically serve the interests of the people of the two countries, contribute to the relationship between the US and ASEAN, as well as peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world," said Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung.
Regarding the visit, Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung said that President Joe Biden will have important talks and meetings with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and senior leaders of the Party and State; and activities with businesses and people.
The two sides will review the comprehensive partnership in all areas and set out orientations for the relationship in the coming time, focusing on cooperation in science and technology, economics, trade and investment, people-to-people exchange, and overcoming the consequences of war. This will open a new chapter in Vietnam-US relations, while creating more favorable objective conditions for Vietnam to gradually assert a higher position in the regional and global value chain.
The two sides also plan to jointly organize activities to exchange war relics and meet technology businesses. On this occasion, the two sides are expected to sign many important economic agreements and contracts that could be worth billions of dollars.
US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen visited an electric motorbike battery assembly line in Gia Lam during her visit to Vietnam in July.
In a congratulatory message marking the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son considered this milestone “an opportunity for the two sides to work together and identify concrete steps towards a brighter future.”
Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung expressed optimism about the futureof bilateral relations based on the progress and achievements that the two countries have made in the past; the potential and aspirations of the people of each country; and the new cooperation frameworks that the leaders of Vietnam and the US will create during the upcoming visit of US President Joe Biden.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung believes that, like the 28 years since normalization and 10 years of comprehensive partnership, the cooperation between the two countries in the coming time will actively contribute to Vietnam's development goals set by the 13th National Party Congress for the very important milestones of 2030 and 2045.
"History has also proven that when Vietnam-US relations develop positively and stably, it will not only serve the practical interests of the people of the two countries, but also be in line with the trend of peace, cooperation and development, contributing positively to the development of relations between the US and ASEAN, as well as maintaining stability and common prosperity in the entire region and the world," said Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung.
