President Putin says Russia is ready to counter any threats

President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia is ready to deal with all existing and emerging threats.

According to RT, speaking at a meeting of the Russian Security Council on September 22, President Putin sounded the alarm about the danger of further deterioration of the geopolitical situation, especially in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Mr Putin added that although Russia had put forward specific ideas, those warnings and initiatives had not received a clear response.

“There is no doubt that Russia is capable of responding to any existing and emerging threats. The response to such threats will not be with words, but with the application of military -technical measures,” President Putin warned.

He referred to Moscow's decision to abandon a unilateral moratorium on the deployment of short- and medium-range ground-based missiles last month, describing it as "a forced step" due to the need to counter plans to deploy missiles produced by the US and other Western countries in Europe and the Asia- Pacific region.

President Putin stressed that Russia is not interested in flexing its muscles or being aggressive. "Russia always prioritizes political and diplomatic solutions to maintain international peace, based on the principles of equality and mutual consideration of interests," the Kremlin leader affirmed.
