Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on September 27 that he had a “very productive” meeting in New York with US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. President Zelensky and Mr. Trump both agreed that the two-and-a-half-year war must end. On social network X, Mr. Zelensky described the meeting: “I had a very productive meeting with Donald Trump. I presented him with the Victory Plan and we thoroughly examined the situation in Ukraine, the consequences of the war on our people. Many details were discussed. We shared the common view that the war in Ukraine must end... The Ukrainian people must win.” Earlier, speaking at a press conference with President Zelensky before the meeting in New York, Mr. Trump said he would work with both Ukraine and Russia to end the war between the two countries. Speaking at a campaign event in North Carolina on September 26 (local time), Mr. Trump also said that Ukraine should "give in a little" to appease Moscow and avoid a bloody conflict with its neighbor, which he said "needlessly happened."./.
