Tottenham loan striker from PSG

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal with Paris Saint-Germain to sign striker Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan deal.

The two parties have agreed personal terms, with the Frenchman now travelling to London to undergo a medical . The deal does not include a buyout clause or an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Kolo Muani joined PSG in 2023 for €90 million from Eintracht Frankfurt, signing a five-year contract. However, he has since fallen out of favour. In the first half of the 2024/25 season, Kolo Muani scored just 2 goals in 10 matches for PSG, mostly coming off the bench. He was even left out of the squad by coach Luis Enrique for 4 Ligue 1 matches in December and January. In the second half of last season, Kolo Muani played for Juventus on loan.

Kolo Muani has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 22 appearances for Juventus, appearing in almost every Serie A game since arriving. He was initially in talks to return to Juventus but the deal collapsed over the weekend, opening the door for Tottenham. Both Spurs and Manchester United had previously considered taking Kolo Muani on loan in January, before he moved to Turin.

Spurs have started the season positively under Thomas Frank, but record signing Dominic Solanke is out with an ankle injury and missed the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend. Richarlison is now Frank's only natural centre-forward.

After the defeat to Bournemouth, manager Frank reassured that Solanke's injury was not serious, although the recovery process was slower than expected, but the medical team hoped he could return after the international break, when Spurs met West Ham on September 13.
