Dong Hoi City: Aquatic product output grows quite well

(QBĐT) - Recently, the fishing activities of fishermen in coastal communes in Dong Hoi City have continued to be promoted, fishing grounds have been expanded, thanks to which, the fishing output has achieved a fairly good growth rate.

Border Guard forces presented national flags to ship owners and encouraged Dong Hoi fishermen to continue going offshore.

Chairman of Dong Hoi City People's Committee Hoang Ngoc Dan said that in order to achieve high results in the aquaculture industry, since the beginning of the year, localities in the city have prepared all conditions well for the 2025 farming season. At the same time, the city organized the release of more than 1 million giant tiger prawns (PL30, size from 2-3cm) into Nhat Le River.

In addition, the city has carried out a peak period of patrolling and checking compliance with regulations on fisheries exploitation, resolutely handling violations of fisheries laws and combating IUU fishing; promoting propaganda and dissemination of regulations on combating IUU fishing in many forms, such as: Propagating about seas and islands; guiding ship owners to sign a commitment to comply with the law; awarding national flags to ship owners, encouraging fishermen to go to sea...

Fishing activities of fishermen in coastal communes in Dong Hoi city have been promoted and fishing grounds have been expanded.

As a result, the total aquatic product output in the first 6 months of 2025 reached 9,054 tons, up 8.17% over the same period; of which, the exploited output reached 8,796 tons, up 8.33% over the same period; the aquaculture output reached 258 tons, up 2.99% over the same period.
