“Also during this time, the Department of Tourism coordinated with relevant units to focus on reviewing and adjusting the Hanoi City Tourism Development Plan to 2020, with a vision to 2030, ensuring effective promotion and development of tourism, especially cultural tourism, into a spearhead economic sector. Build a unique product

Besides the achieved results, tourism in the capital still has many shortcomings, reflected in the lack of synchronous infrastructure, especially high-quality accommodation facilities, which have not met the growth rate and diverse needs of tourists...

According to Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha, the current difficulties in the industry are common difficulties, many of which cannot be solved in a day or two. In the immediate future, to effectively implement Program 06/Ctr-TU and Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU of the City Party Committee on "Developing cultural industry in the capital for the period 2021-2025, orientation to 2030, vision to 2045", the capital's tourism industry needs to identify a long-term strategy with the core task of promoting the typical cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi; focusing on exploiting the values of special national relics, national intangible cultural heritage for quality and effective cultural tourism products...

“The Department of Tourism coordinates with relevant units to urgently develop plans and propose to the City People's Committee to assign tasks and allocate budget to build a specialized electronic website on tourism; build a TV channel to promote cultural tourism on Hanoi television... as a basis to promote the quality of information and propaganda about tourism in the capital; have plans and solutions to effectively exploit public works, parks, flower gardens...; research and develop a project to exploit destinations at 6 theaters of the city with attractive and unique art experience programs...", Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha emphasized.

Long-term planning

Speaking at the direction, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, Head of the Steering Committee of Program 06/Ctr-TU affirmed: The capital's tourism industry has made many efforts in implementing the programs and resolutions of the City Party Committee, contributing positively to the economic transformation of the city. To further promote the achieved results in the coming time, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong directed that it is necessary to focus on the task of building the Hanoi City Tourism Development Plan to 2020, with a vision to 2030, because this is a specialized and very specific plan, requiring a long-term vision with good forecasting and a bolder approach. For example, the type of resort tourism, which has now formed a few models, if we do not pay attention to planning from now, it will be difficult to take off in the future.

In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on advising the city on three groups of policies to serve tourism development. The first is the mechanism and policies to develop community tourism, destinations associated with villages and communes. The second is the policy to attract investment for international-class accommodation areas, meeting the needs of organizing large-scale events. The third is the policy to organize annual national and international cultural and sports events... so that Hanoi appears in the media associated with monthly and quarterly large-scale events, on the roadmap to build a "Global City"; "Creative City"... Besides promoting domestic communication, it is necessary to focus on international communication, identifying markets to focus on investment.

The Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also emphasized the need to establish a city tourism award, honoring effective tourism businesses, quality community products or creative ideas in the tourism sector...
