To welcome the new year 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a high-altitude fireworks display at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel in Thu Duc City with 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, 30 low-altitude fireworks, and 10 pyrotechnic fireworks. The low-altitude fireworks display will take place at Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 with 90 low-altitude fireworks and 30 pyrotechnic fireworks. The expected time of the display is 15 minutes, from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2024, with socialized funding.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City will also organize a New Year's countdown program on the night of December 31 at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue walking street. To serve the countdown program, from 6-12 pm on December 30 (Saturday) and from 3 pm on December 31 (Sunday) to 1 am on January 1, 2024, the Department of Transport will prohibit all vehicles from entering Nguyen Hue Street (from Le Thanh Ton Street to Ton Duc Thang Street), District 1.

• Route 1: Ton Duc Thang Street → Ham Nghi Street → Pasteur Street → Le Thanh Ton Street.

• Route 2: Ton Duc Thang Street → Me Linh Square → Hai Ba Trung Street → Le Thanh Ton Street.
