According to the announcement of the Department of Education and Training of District 7, the standard score for admission to the school is 54.5 points.
It is known that this is the second year Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School has organized a capacity assessment survey to recruit 6th grade students. In this survey, more than 1,800 candidates participated in the survey.
The subjects of the survey at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School are students who have completed primary school and are currently residing in District 7, with a score of 9 or higher on the final test of grade 5 in Vietnamese and math. The scores of these tests must be confirmed by the principals of the primary schools.
Admission scores for grade 6 at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School (District 7)
Previously, on May 31, candidates took a 90-minute competency test with two parts: multiple-choice and essay. The multiple-choice part (30 minutes) included 20 multiple-choice questions in English about understanding natural sciences , social sciences and common sense. The essay part (60 minutes) included a test of English reading comprehension and writing (in English); mathematics and logical thinking (in Vietnamese); reading comprehension and writing (in Vietnamese).
Students who fail to pass the entrance exam to grade 6 at Nguyen Huu Tho School will be assigned to grade 6 by the District 7 Department of Education and Training according to regulations.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will have 6 schools enrolling students in grade 6 using a competency assessment test, including: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (District 1), Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Binh Tho Secondary School, Hoa Lu Secondary School (Thu Duc City) and Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School (Hoc Mon District).
