VinUni's Phase 2 strategy focuses on two pillars: Developing academic infrastructure - research and upgrading the academic human resources according to international standards, with the orientation of developing 5 strategic research areas including: AI and Robotics, Medicine and Health Technology, Smart Cities and Environment, Big Data - High Performance Computing, Policy and Sustainable Development.
Modern laboratories at VinUni serve teaching and research
Regarding infrastructure development, Vingroup Corporation has committed to investing VND9,300 billion in VinUni in the new phase. Of this, VND1,500 billion will be used to expand the campus, build lecture halls, dormitories, sports areas and modern laboratory systems. The training scale will increase from 1,500 to 5,000 students, with nearly 50% being postgraduate students - the core force for the scientific research ecosystem.
In particular, VinUni will form an Industrial Research and Innovation Complex - a research center integrating high-tech labs, university-business collaboration spaces and a 1,000-seat international conference hall, regularly gathering more than 600 scientists .
This is where R&D experts from the business ecosystem, especially from VinFast , Vinmec, VinBigData, VinRobotics, VinMotion... will join VinUni lecturers and students to form co-innovation studios, focusing on highly applied research, rapid commercialization and entrepreneurial spirit.
Along with the on-site complex, VinUni will cooperate with prestigious global universities such as Cornell, Pennsylvania, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)... and prestigious universities in Vietnam to develop interdisciplinary research clusters (RISE research clusters), aiming at high-quality academic publications and solving major national challenges.
Regarding the improvement of academic human resources, VinUni launched the "VinUni 500" program - selecting 500 elite global scientists and lecturers, especially Vietnamese scientists working abroad. The list of invited candidates includes: 10 international scientific directors, 200 lecturers - researchers with prestigious publications, 200 post-doctoral scholars and 100 affiliated lecturers.
VinUni is a destination that attracts talented and enthusiastic lecturers from many prestigious universities around the world.
To recruit scholars, VinUni will apply a remuneration policy equivalent to that of good universities in the world, with a personal career development fund of up to 150 million VND per year and a seed funding fund of up to 6 billion VND for each outstanding scientist.
In addition to the goal of improving the quality of research and teaching for students, the "VinUni 500" program plays a role in connecting the network of Vietnamese scholars with the network of overseas Vietnamese scholars and scholars from the VinFuture Prize - a place that brings together outstanding global minds - to create a breakthrough driving force for substantive and impactful research cooperation activities.
Dr. Le Mai Lan, Chairwoman of VinUni Council, shared: "VinUni is not just a university, but a vision of creating a generation of talent for the future. We believe that with a policy of attracting talent to build internal strength; joining forces with domestic and international scientists, making the most of the support from the business ecosystem - VinUni will actively contribute to the national strategy in the era of the country's rise".
VinUni is confident with the Strategy of combining Internal Strength - Synergy and Support
Originating from the aspiration to create a world-class university right in Vietnam, after 5 years of development, VinUni has gradually become a symbol of entrepreneurial spirit, speed, quality and global academic cooperation. The school has become the youngest university to achieve a comprehensive 5-star QS certification at the fastest speed in the world, gradually affirming its position in the international higher education community.
VinUni University officially announced its second phase of development acceleration strategy with the goal of becoming one of the 100 best universities in the world. The fulcrum of the strategy is the "VinUni 500" program - inviting 500 elite academics from around the world and a funding source of VND 9,300 billion from Vingroup to expand the scale of training and build an international standard research ecosystem in Vietnam.
