On the morning of November 23, a delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee led by Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc came to offer flowers and incense at the national historical site of Nga Ba Giong and the Nam Ky Uprising Monument (Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City). This is an activity to commemorate the 84th anniversary of the Nam Ky Uprising (November 23, 1940 - November 23, 2024).
At the ceremony, delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh , former leaders of the Party and State, and compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Exactly 84 years ago, uprisings broke out simultaneously in most provinces of the South with fierce spirit and momentum, seizing power in many places, shaking the imperial government.

The Southern Uprising left behind many experiences, cadres, and people who contributed to the victory of the August 1945 General Uprising and the great victory of the spring of 1975.
The national historical site of Nga Ba Giong is where the French colonialists previously built a shooting range to secretly execute revolutionary soldiers, including Mr. Nguyen Van Cu, General Secretary of the Indochinese Communist Party and Mr. Phan Dang Luu, Standing Member of the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party...
Previously, the delegation of leaders of Ho Chi Minh City also came to offer flowers and incense at the Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Monument, a national historical and cultural relic at the Hoc Mon District Palace (Hoc Mon District).
On the same day, at the historical site 'The meeting place of the Southern Party Committee in September 1940', a meeting was held to commemorate the 84th anniversary of the Southern Uprising. Mr. Tran Van Khuyen, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City and Hoc Mon District offered incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the contributions of national heroes, compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the cause of fighting and unifying the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Standing Deputy Secretary of Hoc Mon District Party Committee, said that 84 years have passed, but the spirit of the Southern Uprising still remains. Promoting that spirit, the government and people of Hoc Mon District have made many efforts in building and developing the district.

"According to the Resolution of the 12th District Party Congress, in the past 4 years, Hoc Mon District has carried out key projects, completing 215/228 projects. In addition, the district has completed 158/158 projects under the project to improve the quality of new rural construction criteria in the period 2016 - 2020; completed 6 school projects; key traffic projects... District leaders focused on mobilizing people to agree to hand over 100% of the land to implement the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project through the district," said Mr. Tuan.
In the 2024 - 2025 period, Hoc Mon District will continue to implement 99 projects with a total cost of VND 891 billion in 10 communes to build advanced new rural areas; implement 64 projects with a total capital of VND 1,342.8 billion to carry out projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification, build civilized urban towns...
