Ho Chi Minh City is ready to strengthen cooperation with Cambodian localities.

Ho Chi Minh City is ready to further strengthen diverse cooperation activities with Cambodian localities, especially in the fields of health andeducation ; promote trade; and people-to-people exchange to realize the potential of cooperation in accordance with the wishes of the leaders and people of Vietnam and Cambodia.

That was the affirmation of Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the morning of April 9, when visiting and congratulating the staff of the Cambodian Consulate General in the City on the occasion of the traditional Khmer New Year Chol Chnam Thmay 2025.

On behalf of the leaders and people of the City, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy congratulated the staff of the Cambodian Consulate General and the Cambodian community studying and living in Ho Chi Minh City on the achievements that the country and people of Cambodia have achieved in the past year; expressed her belief that under the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the National Assembly and the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Cambodian people will continue to achieve even greater achievements in the coming time.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City always cherishes and does its best to preserve, consolidate and promote the good relationship with Cambodia in general and Cambodian localities in particular, paying special attention to promoting business cooperation, trade promotion and goods exchange to realize the potential for economic, trade and investment cooperation between the City and Cambodian localities and partners.

Expressing her joy at the positive results in people-to-people exchange, medical and educational cooperation... between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodian localities, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy suggested that the Cambodian Consulate General and the Cambodian government continue to pay attention and create more favorable conditions for the operation of Cho Ray-Phnom Penh Hospital, not only to foster a typical symbol of the good cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodian localities but also to help Cambodian people access high-quality medical services of the City's Health sector.

Thanking the affection and attention of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City for visiting and congratulating the Cambodian community living and working in the area on the important holiday of the Khmer people; Mr. Chan Sorykan, Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the City expressed his gratitude for the support, assistance and close cooperation of Ho Chi Minh City towards the Cambodian Consulate General in the past time.

Mr. Chan Sorykan said that 2025 is a special year for Vietnam, the year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and also the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association.

The Cambodian Consulate General in the City strives to further promote the relationship between Cambodian localities and Ho Chi Minh City as well as between Cambodia and Vietnam in general, especially in the fields of trade, investment and people-to-people exchange.

In the immediate future, the Cambodian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City will step up coordination with relevant agencies and units of Vietnam to organize the Investment Cooperation Promotion Conference and the Business Forum between the two countries; organize for officials and staff of the Consulate General, businesses, and Cambodian students in the city to participate in the humanitarian blood donation program...

On this occasion, the Cambodian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City expressed his hope that the City will continue to support and increase the number of scholarships for Cambodian students, contributing to helping Cambodia improve the quality of human resources and consolidate and develop the good friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries./.
