One of the highlights in implementing Directive 05-CT/TW at the unit is the promotion of administrative reform, customs modernization and transparency of business processes. Through the application of information technology and automated customs management systems, customs clearance of goods is shortened, cumbersome procedures are minimized, creating maximum convenience for businesses.
In the control work, the unit always proactively coordinates with functional forces in the area such as Border Guard, Police, Market Management... to grasp the situation, detect and promptly handle violations. Thereby, contributing to maintaining economic security, social order and safety at the border gate area, creating a stable, smooth and healthy import and export environment.
In particular, as a frontline and core unit in building smart border gates, Mong Cai International Border Gate Customs has actively participated in the Working Group on building smart border gates of Mong Cai City People's Committee. The unit also proactively coordinated surveys and held talks with the Chinese side to complete professional contents, ensuring the project is implemented on schedule and with quality. Towards a modern, transparent and integrated customs clearance environment. By the end of May 2025, the total import and export turnover of goods through border gates and openings in Mong Cai City reached 2,280 million USD, an increase of 34% over the same period in 2024. The volume of import and export goods through border gates reached more than 1,059,000 tons, an increase of 39%, showing that border trade activities continue to maintain positive growth momentum.
